Updates from Mr. Dettwiller
March 8, 2022
It is an exciting time of year. With Spring around the corner there are a lot of great things going on at Eastern from our kindergartners all the way to those seniors getting ready to graduate. I hope everyone gets a chance to get outside and enjoy the warm weather and remember even as the year winds down it's so important to stay engaged with the school, your students work and their teachers. Our students need all of us working together to help them reach their potential.

Wrestlers Finish Season Strong at Districts
A season Recap from Coach Brothers.
Eastern caps off one of its best wrestling seasons to date. Senior Jayden Evans career is over…maybe. Jayden placed 5th in the district which makes him a state alternate, if any of the other wrestlers above him can not compete at the state meet he will take their place. Jayden currently has a record of 41-9, second most single season wins, most single season pins, and highest season win percentage by an eagle wrestler. Landan Basham was Eastern’s fist freshman district qualifier and finished with a record of 23-17, second most wins by a freshman. 4 year senior Ryan Ross was having a solid season until having to call it quits due to mono. Juniors Colton Bailey and Landon Randolph are both first years and made massive strides this year. Colton finished his season 6th in the sectional while Landon sadly missed the last two meets due to a knee injury. Sophomore Zach Nelson was able to come back from a back injury for the last two meets of the year and notched a couple of big wins. Gavan Smith capped off the season with a good performance at sectionals placing 6th and losing a couple of really close matches. Ethan Love improved greatly as the season went on but unfortunately moved before the season was over. With the addition of women’s wrestling and jr high wrestling at eastern we look to continue this groups success and build a top tier program. Thank you to all the people that have supported us along the way and helped get the program to where it is.High School Archery Team Wins FCA AAC tournament

YOUTH BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL EVENT A HUGE SUCCESS
Baseball, Softball, Church food, and community fellowship, it doesn’t get much better. On February the 26th the Tuppers Plains, and Chester youth leagues, the Eastern Baseball and Softball programs, and Mount Hermon Church partnered up for a amazing event. During sign ups all our student athletes had a chance to get instruction from the Varsity coaches and players. Meanwhile parents were treated to and amazing breakfast and some fellowship at no charge. Thank you to the Mount Hermon church family for providing and serving breakfast. Thank you to the Varsity Boys and Girls teams for serving our students in the skills camp. We had 55 boys and 25 girls participate. So proud of all of these organizations and our community. Stronger Together!
For those of you who weren’t able to attend the event, but still want to play baseball or softball we will have our final sign up on Monday, March 14, 5:30-7:30.
