Student Registration
There are a few families who have not completed the registration paperwork in Skyward. It is not too late! Please log in to Skyward and follow the registration prompts. This will be a good opportunity to update contact information (phone numbers, email addresses, etc.) before we move into the winter season when communication from the school increases due to weather related announcements.
If you need help with your username and password please email a secretary at:
mblouin@isd177.com for the Elementary
thaken@isd177.com for the Middle School
spiotter@isd177.com for the High School
Veteran's Day Program - November 10
All are invited to the Veteran's Day Program on November 10 at 9:30 in the Blue Gym. This program will be hosted by Windom Schools in conjunction with the Windom American Legion Post 206. Students will participate in the program by singing, playing instruments, and the doing a flag presentation. Please join us in honoring Veteran's who are responsible for the making America the land of the free and home of the brave!
Middle School Pie Sales
The annual Baker's Square Pie Sales will begin on October 16 and orders will be taken through October 24. We are not doing online sales this year, but rather students will be out and about with paper order forms. If you'd like to order and do not know a 5th-8th grade student, please call or stop by the Middle School office. Pies will be arriving at the Middle High School on November 21 for pick up, just in time for Thanksgiving!
Inclement Weather
Winter will be here before we know it! If inclement weather makes it unsafe for students and staff to travel to school, parents will receive a message using an app called Thrillshare. Thrillshare speaks with Skyward to gain phone numbers and email addresses. Please take this opportunity to log into your family Skyward account and double check your contact information.
Weather announcements are also broadcasted on KDOM radio, KEYC TV, WCCO TV, KELO TV, KARE 11TV, KKOJ Radio, and recorded in the school's phone system at school 831-6910. We also share the information on the Windom Schools Facebook page and Twitter Handle.
There are three types of days that may be called due to inclement weather:
1. An E-Learning Day - Students work from home.
2. A Good Old Fashion Snow Day - No School for Students.
3. Virtual Professional Development Day for Staff - No School for Students.
- E-Learning
An E-Learning Day will be announced as early as possible, but by statute must be determined no later than two hours before the start of the school day. Elementary students will have work in their take-home folders to complete and Middle High School Students will log into Schoology for their classes. All teachers will be available by phone and email on E-Learning Days.
To view the official E-Learning Plan click here.
- Good Old Fashion Snowday
A good old fashion snow day means that there is no school for students or staff.
- Virtual Professional Development
A virtual professional development day means that students will have the day off and staff will participate in virtual professional development.

Looking for a new activity to do with your children? Check out the story stroll on the square. There are two stories located in the windows of businesses. The first is "Last Stop at Market Street" and it begins at the Chamber of Commerce. The second story is "The Big Banana" and the first page is at the DVHHS on Ninth street. The stories have pages in 20 different business windows and are written in English and Spanish. Enjoy the story stroll on the square this fall season!
