Week of Respect
Each year during the first week of October, schools across the country celebrate the Week of Respect. Schools provide age-appropriate instruction that focuses on preventing and remediating harassment, intimidation, and bullying. As part of the celebration, students are allowed to participate in the following themes each day. Thank you to our PTA for sponsoring a school-wide assembly (Bully No More) on Monday, October 3rd.

Monday: Bollywood Dance (Kindergarten - 3rd Grade)
Monday: Junior Aerospace Engineering (3rd Grade - 5th Grade)
Tuesday: Taekwondo (Kindergarten - 5th Grade)
Wednesday: LEGO Club (Kindergarten - 2nd Grade)
Wednesday: Artistic Interpretations (3rd Grade - 5th Grade)
Thursday: Introduction to Robotics (2nd Grade - 5th Grade)
Friday: No-Bake Baking (Kindergarten - 5th Grade)
Classes will run from October 3rd through December 9th.
Huber Street School Book Fair
Halloween
1) Begin in the Huber Street School courtyard.
2) Turn left onto Paterson Plank Road.
3) Turn left onto Fairview Avenue.
4) Turn left onto Elizabeth Court.
5) Turn right onto Schultz Place.
6) Turn right onto Fairview Avenue.
7) Return to Huber Street School Courtyard.
Students will walk the parade with their homeroom teachers. All parents and family members are invited to watch along the parade route. After the parade, students will return to their homerooms for classroom activities. Kindergarten students will be dismissed at 12:15 P.M. and Grades 1-5 will be dismissed at 12:30 P.M.
Note: In case of inclement weather, the parade will be cancelled but costumes may still be worn to school.
** Costume Guidelines **
★ Students are NOT permitted to bring any item that resembles a weapon (guns, swords, axes, etc.) to accessorize their costumes. If a student brings an item like this to school, it will be held in the main office to be retrieved by a parent/guardian at the end of the school day.
★ Masks covering the entire face may only be worn during the parade as long as it does not obstruct the student’s vision.
★ Costumes should be tasteful, modest, and appropriate for a school environment and follow the basic guidelines of school dress standards.

We will make every effort to have our students go outside for recess. Please make sure to provide your children with appropriate clothing for cold weather. Students will remain indoors during the following weather conditions.
