Trice As Nice

I would like to welcome the newest member of the Trice family Ms. Alisha Stevens. She was confirmed at the July 13th board meeting and is coming to us from College Hill Elementary where she was a 4th grade teacher. Ms. Stevens will be teaching performing arts, specializing in drama and chorus.

This Week

Monday--Recycling trailer delivered to campus.

Tuesday-- Recycling trailer on campus. Mrs. Boyles off campus.

Wednesday-- Recycling trailer on campus.

Thursday-- Recycling trailer on campus.

Friday--office closed, recycling trailer to be picked up in the morning.

The recycling trailer has been delivered to campus today. The trailer will be here until Friday morning. You may place paper, notebooks, textbooks, and spiral bound notebooks in the bins labeled "paper". There are two bins labeled paper and two labeled cardboard. Please make sure you are only putting paper in the paper bins and cardboard in the cardboard bins. Please do not place styrofoam in any of the bins it is not an accepted recycle material. If you have other items to recycle such as aluminum cans, please put them in a separate bag and place them beside the trailer. During the school year we will continue to have the trailer delivered to our campus. Ms. Newton and the HEAT team will be in charge of the recycling program and will be paid for the items they recycle.

You may pick up your school badge and keys at your earliest convenience beginning tomorrow. The badges are activated and you will be able to use them to enter the building. All of our outside doors are either key less entry or exit only doors. We no longer have exterior doors with a key entry.

The board has approved the purchase of Houghton Mifflin Science Dimensions curriculum for grades 3 and 4 with k-2 adoption scheduled for the 2018-2019 school year. All 3rd and 4th grade teachers will need to attend the professional development training for this curriculum on July 31st in the board room at the administration building. Teacher you will need to bring a device and your teacher materials with you to the training. Mr. McDonald will be distributing chrome book cart to your classroom next week. We should get your teacher materials in next week as well. Make sure you sign up for the training in shoebox to document your hours.

I know that most of you were planning to attend the July 31st sciencecurriculum day hosted by the district. Now that the district has decided to adopt textbooks for grade 3 & 4 we will be hosting PD for K-2 on our campus. Any K-2 teachers needing PD hours may attend the K-2 science curriculum day at Trice. The PD will be on July 31st from 8:30-3:30 in the cafeteria. Make sure you sign up for the session in shoebox to document your training. The session identification number is 326479.
