Weekly Updates:

Cookie Dough fundraiser Kick OFF is this Wednesday, October 6th at 2:55 p.m. LIVE on Flyervision. Everyone will need to watch the kick off video and send the packets home on Wednesday. This is a CONCORD school fundraiser that supports all of the fun things we are able to pay for throughout the year including t-shirts, food for events, and teacher supplies so I appreciate you promoting this as much as possible. We even have prizes for teachers!

Chicken Game Incentive: This year students can earn chicken keychains by participating in the sale! They will turn in the coupons from the coupon sheet on Oct 6th, Oct 10th, and 13th to the lobby from 8:30-9:00 a.m. Students can also trade. More information to come at our kick off!

K-2 Data Teams on Thursday: Liz will be leading this year as I will be out at leadership academy. Please enter your reading levels in the data dashboard. In addition, we will be looking at myON data, Dreambox (1st and 2nd) data, and SLO data. Please bring your laptop and any materials you might need to facilitate some powerful discussions.

Read Aloud of the Week: Last Stop on Market Street

Each week I would like to start highlighting a great read aloud. I'll try to post books that wee have in our library that are new reads.

Summary: Every Sunday after church, CJ and his grandma ride the bus across town. But today, CJ wonders why they don't own a car like his friend Colby. Why doesn’t he have an iPod like the boys on the bus? How come they always have to get off in the dirty part of town? Each question is met with an encouraging answer from grandma, who helps him see the beauty—and fun—in their routine and the world around them.

Resource of the Week: Coding with Tynker

Coding Project: Autumn Leaves Animation

One of our favorite parts of fall is seeing the leaves change! Your kids can watch the process happen right before their eyes – and learn why the leaves are changing – with Tynker. They'll follow step-by-step instructions in our PBL tutorial to make a beautiful, educational lesson on the fall season!

Thank you to everyone who attended our Grant's Farm Night! It was such a wonderful event for families to be able to enjoy a night out with teachers and friends.
