LCPS Update
October 9, 2020
Lunenburg County Public Schools continues to work closely with the Virginia Department of Health’s Piedmont District. Currently the data is showing that Lunenburg County is at high risk for transmission of COVID-19 cases. The Lunenburg County School Board will continue to work closely with the health department over the next two weeks to look at the trend in the data. At that time, the school board will reevaluate opening schools.
In addition, the first nine weeks will be coming to a close on October 20, 2020. We are encouraging students to complete all assignments. Parents, if your child is struggling or experiencing difficulties, please reach out to your child’s teacher and their school.
Two new opportunities will be available for our students. Teachers may now schedule appointments for up to five students at a time in order to assist with instruction. Also, an internet café at Lunenburg Middle School and Central High School will be available. Students desiring to attend the internet café must make an appointment with the school. Safety protocols will be followed. Masks will be worn and social distancing observed.
Our top priority continues to be the safety of our students and staff. It is our desire to come back to in person learning when the data indicates that it is safe. We are all in this together. There is nothing that we want more than for your child to succeed!
