1. All for Books contest. Get ready! The book fair is on its way! To help raise extra funds to purchase more of your favorite books for our school library AND to help raise money for school libraries in need (Scholastic matches all of the money that we raise and donates that amount to a school library in need), we are hosting a contest to see which Bulldog Time classroom can raise the most money. Bring in your loose change through Friday, October 17 to help your classroom become the winner. The winning classroom will receive a pizza or donut party AND $50 in Scholastic classroom cash to purchase new books from the book fair.
2. Design the next Wimpy Kid book cover. The next Diary of a Wimpy Kid book is set to arrive on November 4. Here is your chance to dream big and design the cover for the next Diary of a Wimpy Kid book. Pick up a template in the library and create your vision for the next book cover. You can also create a cover using your favorite digital tool. All entries must be submitted by Friday, October 17. The top entry will win a $10 Scholastic book fair gift certificate.
3. Guessing Contest. Highlighting our book fair theme, "Sir Readalot's Castle," we invite you to participate in our guessing contest. Can you guess how many mints it takes to freshen a dragon's breath? Visit the library this week and guess how many mints are in our jar. The person with the closest guess will be lucky enough to have the freshest breath in the school.
4. Unmask the Knights. Can you identify the fearless masked knights- or teachers- at our school? Stop by the bulletin board outside of the library and see if you can guess which teachers are hiding underneath the knight masks. All entries will be placed into a raffle for prizes. The person who correctly unmasks the most knights will receive a $5 book fair gift certificate.
