MESSAGE FROM MR CROWSON
Parent/Teacher Conferences with a TWIST
Spring is almost here and with it comes SPRING CONFERENCES. However, due to all the craziness going on (COVID, Hybrid, CDL, etc) we feel there is a greater need by families and students that extends beyond the usual mid-semester academic snapshot. Instead we will be scheduling longer, more in depth meetings, with every single student to discuss their academic progress through this pandemic.
Our Goal: To host comprehensive “Profile Of A Graduate” meetings with every student and parents of Hidden Valley High School.
Our Focus:
Each meeting will be 15-20 minutes
Each meeting will give details about your son/daughter's academic journey. You should walk away with a clear understanding of where you are and what you have left to do to graduate from Hidden Valley High School.
If you are credit deficient you may be given additional details on ways to get back on track
Additional details that will be discussed: attendance, behavior, support available
Students may also be encouraged to earn a CTE diploma or Honors Diploma based on their current progress
Each participant will be asked to complete a quick and easy exit survey to let us know how successful we were in sharing information about your graduate.
Who: Hidden Valley High School students, parents and faculty
What: Profile Of A Graduate meetings
Where: Virtual or In-Person
When: March 29-April 16
Why: Parents and Students need to know where they are in their high school journey
Please be on the lookout for information from one of your teachers in the coming weeks regarding appointment times and days. The district has set aside the evenings of April 14th and 15th for conferences. They have also set up the morning of April 16th. Some teachers may be looking to fill spots after school starting the week of March 29th.
Remember, our goal is to reach 100% of our student population. Please help us reach our goal. Your child’s educational journey is incredibly important to us!
Sincerely,
Damian Crowson
Principal

RYAN WILSON ROTARY CLUB FINALIST
Ryan Wilson, a senior at Hidden Valley High School is moving forward in the Rotary Club’s 4 Way Speech Contest. Ryan’s speech topic is on vaccinations and whether or not they should be required.
He has to put his thoughts through the 4 way test;
1. Is it the TRUTH?
2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
It’s a great speech! He talks about the history of viruses and how the first vaccination came about. He also talks about how vaccinations have eradicated some viruses entirely, and how close they are to eradicating others, but the question of fairness still remains. Is requiring a vaccine for the greater good FAIR to all concerned?
Ryan’s speech will move forward in this year’s 4 Way Rotary speech contest and I am rooting for him!
