PRINCIPAL's THOUGHTS
Dear Page Hilltop Families:
Tuesday, June 6th will be Spirit Day - Page Hilltop Pride Day! We encourage all of our students to come to show showing us something they are proud of by dressing in special attire:
- Show your pride as a Page Hilltop student by wearing something that has Page Hilltop or Ayer on it
- Show your pride as a Kind person by wearing a shirt with a kindness message on it
- Show your pride for your family's heritage by wearing clothing from a specific country or ethnic background
- Show your pride in something you are good at (sports uniform, artistic, musical, dance attire)
- Show your pride as a student leader by wearing your Panther Power leadership shirt
- Show your pride as a member of the Girls-on-the-Run club by wearing your special shirt
- Create your own t-shirt that shows anything else that you are proud about
SHOW US YOUR PERSONAL PRIDE on TUESDAY!!!
Thanks, as always, for sharing your children with us!

WAKE UP WITH PAGE HILLTOP FIFTH GRADERS
Last Thursday our fifth grade students & teachers hosted Cool Career Day. You may read more about this further along in this newsletter.
One of our special guest presenters was WCVB - TV5 Meteorologist / Producer AJ Burnett. Before leaving Page Hilltop, AJ brought all of our fifth graders outside and recorded a "Wake Up" video. The students were thrilled as you will see on the video.
AJ has informed me that this wake-up video will air on Channel 5 this Thursday (June 8th).
The Wake Up Calls are usually shown around 5:10 and 6:10 during the morning news broadcasts.
He suggested you begin watching between 5:05 - 5:15 and 6:05 - 6:15 as they don't always show right on time.
Start your Thursday with the enthusiastic fifth graders from Page Hilltop!!

End of year medications
The end of the school year is quickly approaching! If you would like to pick up your child’s medication, you will need to do so during school hours prior to the end of the school year. If you prefer to leave your child’s medication in the nurse’s office over the summer, you do not need to do anything. Any medication left at school that expires over the summer will be disposed of as of June 22th 2023. For 5th grade students whose meds are not picked up by June 20th, the medications (except for controlled medications) will be moved to the Middle School on that day. GRADE 5 DARE GRADUATION
All of our grade 5 students came together to celebrate their successful completion of the DARE program. Hosting the celebration was SRO Michael Nicolo and the APD & FD leadership. We are very proud of our students and hope they will always remember the important lessons they learned during these past 10 weeks. Thanks also to Page Hilltop health teacher Kathy Robbins who helped coordinate the DARE lessons with Ofc. Nicolo.
GRADE 5 COOL CAREERS DAY
SPRING CHORUS CONCERT
It was a beautiful spring night as a large crowd of PH family members gathered outside to listen to some beautiful music from our school chorus. As she always does, chorus director Arielle Richter had put together a wonderful program of songs along with special readings with kindness messages. Thanks to PH art teacher Heidi Cowley for designing the program.
ASRHS SENIORS PARADE
The tradition of having our high school graduating seniors march through & around our school continued this past Thursday. What a thrill it is for our teachers to see so many of their former students all grown up and ready to move on from high school. Our students enjoy cheering on older siblings and thinking ahead to when they will be the ones marching by!
LUNCH WITH THE SENIORS - PART 2
This week it was our fourth grade student leaders' turn to walk over to the Nashoba Park Assisted Living Center to have a nice luncheon visit with the senior residents.
SCHOOL STORE UPDATES
Our school store, the Panther Pride Shop, continues to open for business during lunchtimes on Fridays. There is a stock of new items available for sale!
FIELD DAY / COOKOUT
On Friday, June 16th we will be holding our annual Field Day activities. There is always an awesome day for our students and staff. The Ayer Police Department B-B-Q team will be returning to help prepare the cookout lunches for the students.
- Students in grades K - 2 will be participating in their field day activities during the morning
- Students in grades 3 - 5 will be participating in their field day activities during the afternoon. We need
LOTS of volunteers to make this a safe and successful event for all of our students. We hope that many of you will be here to volunteer your services. Check your calendars and be prepared to sign up on the volunteer form coming home. You may sign up for a 1/2 day or the entire day! Volunteer Sign Up notices went home yesterday. If you did not receive one, please contact Gail at 978-772-8600 x1401.
BIKE SAFETY RODEO
We are happy to announce that we will be again working with members of the Ayer Police Department to host a Bike Safety Rodeo for all of our students. It will be held on Friday, June 9th from 3:15 - 4:15 on the Page Hilltop playground. APD personnel will be conducting bicycle safety checks & helmet fittings. They will also conduct some bicycle skills riding activities. All preschool - grade 5 students are welcome to attend. You may drop off bikes at school (front lawns) at anytime or bring them to school at 3:15. Please send a note with your child if they are staying after for the bike rodeo.

HOLIDAY PARADE
There is a local community group that is planning a weekend of "Pre-July 4th" events including a parade on Saturday, June 24th at 12:30. Page Hilltop is planning to have a float in the parade and all PH families are welcome to join us. We have some of our school community groups (Panther Power student leaders, Girls Scouts, etc.) who will be participating. We also welcome any and all students, from all grades, who would like to join in.
We have a donated trailer which we will be decorating for our float.
We will be decorating the float on Friday, June 23rd, beginning at 9:00am. The "decorating crew" is voluntary.
If students are unavailable for decorating, they may plan to join us for the parade on Saturday. We will meet at the St. Mary's parking lot between 11:30 - 12:00 on Saturday.
The parade route is approx. 1 mile. Students will be able to walk and / or ride during the parade.
We also invite students to decorate their own bikes and ride them alongside our float in the parade.
Parents are welcome to help with the decorating as well as marching in the parade.
