This week we were able to gather as a community for our first School Safety Night and first Parent Teacher Organization meeting for the year. We had a fantastic turnout for PTO and we have a lot of new faces joining. We discussed class parties, Beer, Bacon, Barbeque, and Trunk or Treat. We have so many fun events coming up. Mr. Dan Carney, Director of School Safety for BV, and Katie Stillwell, owner of True North Counseling LLC, presented to our parent's various ways to keep our children safe. The importance of monitoring mental health was discussed in both presentations. As a community, we need to work together to make sure our students are healthy mentally and physically. Working together to keep our school and parish community safe takes all of us to act as undercover security guards. Please do not ever hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns. Today in Mass, we celebrated the Feast Day of Padre Pio, the patron saint of healing and suffering. Fr. Oswaldo spoke about the relationship Padre Pio had with Jesus and how that helped him through his many challenges. He explained to the students and staff how he wants us to continue to build on our friendship with Jesus more and more each day. The responsorial psalm response today was "Blessed be the Lord, my Rock!", what a great reminder at the end of a long week. Have a wonderful weekend!
