This week I was reminded of the POWER of Joy as I watched one of Hawthorne’s great teachers go all in with a lesson. The class was all over the place with students sharing their thinking, moving around the room, solving problems, questioning processes and supporting each other. There were cheers and chants used to praise the students’ efforts. At one point, one student looked me in the eye and smiled with a look that said, “Man! This is too good!” In that moment was true joy. I laughed because we often focus so hard on numbers and outcomes that we neglect that POWER and connection that joy can bring to any situation. As I continued to reflect, those moments are happening throughout the school daily as students find learning success and connect with people that push them and love them for who they are. From Hawthorne to ALL families and our community, thank you for allowing us to share in the joy that is educating these students!

The 2019 HOMEFEST at WCHS is tonight! Warren Twp. PTA will be hosting a Fun Run for grades Pre-K through 8. The runs start at 4:10 pm. Inside the high school will be a carnival, vendor booths and FOOD! Enjoy the Warriors Big & Small Parade during the halftime of the Homecoming Game which starts at 7 pm.
