SUMMER SCHOOL BEGINS JUNE 20th
The school year is quickly coming to an end and that means Summer School is just around the corner. Families of students who have been identified as needing to recover essential credits towards graduation were sent communication last week. In the coming days, these students will be meeting with their counselor to discuss which credits need to be recovered over the summer.

Classes will be randomly selected.
2 Security Team Members, an Administrator, and at least one Officer will be stationed outside the selected classroom.
The affected hallway will be locked down (unless there’s a nearby empty classroom that can be used)
The wanding team will work from 2 carts - one male, one female
Students will come out TWO at a time, remove any items that could set off a wand, then be wanded (themselves and their backpack & other belongings)
Anything that goes off will be searched.
If students need to be personally searched, they will be escorted to an Office: Main Office, or Office 200/300 (unless there is a closer empty location)

PROTOCOL REMINDERS:
BUILDING AND STUDENT SAFETY
In light of recent events, and as a firm reminder of a couple of our safety basics please be intentional about discussing these two with your student(s).
Building Entrances/Locked Doors: All entry doors in the building lock at 7:20am. After this, the only doors that may be utilized are at the Main Entrance. Students are not to open, leave from, nor prop open building doors. Failure to follow these safety protocols results in immediate suspension.
Toy Guns: Orbeez or Airsoft Guns, BB Guns, and any other Toy Guns are strictly prohibited and will incur a stiff penalty. Gun look-alikes are dangerous and leave those in authority - especially law enforcement - a split second decision to determine whether it’s real or if it’s not. DO NOT BRING THESE ITEMS TO SCHOOL. Parents, if you allow them in your home, please be sure they remain there. Possession of these weapon look-alikes results in students being sent for an automatic expulsion hearing.
STUDENT PARKING - TOWING HAS BEGUN!
Student drivers may only park in the Student Parking Lot. Lately, student vehicles have overwhelmed the staff parking lot. Beginning this week, unauthorized vehicles will be towed at the owners expense (approx $200)! UPDATE: 4 illegally parked student cars were towed 2 weeks ago, and ZERO cars were towed during last week's sweep. Good job, Tigers!
DAILY ATTENDANCE: Reporting Absences
Parents and guardians, please be sure your student finishes this school year strong with excellent daily attendance! Missing only one day of school can put a student behind for up to 3 days. If students will be absent for any reason, please remember to REPORT their absence either online in ParentConnect (24 hour access), or by calling the Main Office.
It is highly recommended that any student-athlete who plans to participate in a Fall Sport at BHS during the 2022-23 school year get your physical completed and turned in to the Belleville High School Athletic Office before Summer Break begins. TRYOUTS for all Fall Sports begin on August 8th which is approximately a month before school even starts. Physicals from this past 2021-22 school year are TOO OLD and you will NOT be allowed to participate on August 8th unless you have the new one on file. Thank you, and GO TIGERS!
Spring Sports are Winding Down!
