October 2022 News
Central Elementary
From The Principals Desk
Thank you for a great start to our school year. The students and staff are working hard at creating a sense of community in their classrooms and the entire school. Just this past Monday, we started our small reading groups with the support of our title staff. During this time, our kids are working on exactly what they need. We call this time WIN (What I Need). We are providing that same support in math. Please know that our staff is committed to helping your child thrive everyday.

Book Fair
Come out and support the Scholastic Book Fair on October 5th and 6th from 3:45 - 6:00 in our school library. All proceeds from the book fair go directly back to the students. We use our profits to stock our book vending machine. Students can earn a golden token that they can redeem for the book of their choice.
Opportunities To Give
- elastic waisted shorts and pants (for potty, spilled milk and mud puddle accidents)
- tissues
- child sized hangers (for lost and found)
- papertowel
The Young 5s and Kindergarten classes had a great time at Gull Meadow Farms. They learned about apples and pumpkins, got to go on a hayride and visited with the farm animals. They also got a delicious donut and cider treat.
Student Of The Month
Every month, classroom teachers and support staff choose a student to be honored as “Student of the Month.” As part of the celebration, your child will take part in the Student of the Month Lunch with the principal and their teacher. They will also receive a certificate and a letter home congratulating them on their outstanding accomplishments. We look forward to our first Student of the Month Lunch on October 21st.
Hungry Howies Fundraiser
- 3rd Monday of every month
- order from Hungry Howies on Gull Road any time of day
- give them your teacher's name
- class with the most orders wins a pizza party
We get 10% of their sales from that day if we have 10% of our families place an order. So we need 32 families to order from Hungry Howies the 3rd Monday of the month then we get 10% of their sales from the entire day.
Our first fundraiser day is Monday, October 17th.
