Community Update from Principal Griffin
Dear Erie High School families,
Congratulations on the successful completion of the 1st semester of the 2023-2024 school year. I hope that this last week of the semester was a successful one for your child(ren). It has been a school year of many great achievements for our students - I am proud of all of our students, grateful to our faculty & staff, and deeply appreciative of the strong support we receive from our Erie families and community members.
I hope that the upcoming Winter Break is a great one for you and your family. I am glad that our students and staff have the opportunity to rest up in preparation for the 2nd semester. Once we return from Winter Break, we will jump right into what will surely be an exciting and busy semester.
During the week of January 8th, we will follow our Advisory Schedule so that students may engage in class meetings and academic and postsecondary planning sessions. I encourage all families to support their child(ren) with planning for courses for next year by reviewing available materials and discussing your child’s plans during the first week of the semester. The course selection process is a very important opportunity for our students to align their academic coursework with their personal and educational interests.
Thank you for your continued partnership in the success of your child(ren) at Erie High School. I hope that you and your family have a very happy holiday season, a great Winter Break, and a Happy New Year!
Sincerely,
Josh Griffin
Erie High School Principal

Emily Walsworth
Emily has had exceptional leadership, guiding the EHS Cheer team to victory in the Front Range League Championship and clinching their remarkable 6th consecutive State Championship. She earned a well-deserved CHSAA all-state recognition. Huge congratulations to Emily! Moreover, her excellence extends beyond the cheerleading mat—Emily's also an outstanding student, proudly named an EHS Dean's List recipient. She holds above a 4.0 GPA and is highly involved in our student government.
Jada Kloppe
Avery O'Connor
Avery, a four-year varsity member of the EHS dance team, played a pivotal role in leading the Tigers to a Front Range League Championship and achieving a top 8 finish at the CHSAA Dance Spirit State Championships this year. Avery's outstanding performance earned her all-state CHSAA recognition. Great job, Avery!
Carson Hageman
Carson Hageman, team captain and defensive leader for the EHS State Championship football team, was honored as the defensive player of the year and named to the 1st team all-state. Carson's contributions to our student government and is a Dean's List recipient. Incredible work, Carson!
EHS Robotics
We are excited to share that last Saturday EHS Robotics clinched five awards at a district-sponsored blended tournament, a first-time feat for our program!!
- 3743C earned double qualification for the State Championships in March via their Excellence and Tournament Championship Awards.
- 3743A qualified for the State Championships in March with the Skills Championship.
- he Energy award was given to our Freshman team, 3743Z, for their continuous positive energy and enthusiastic support for all teams.
- The Sportsmanship award was awarded because 3743A was observed helping multiple middle school teams improve their robots and offering guidance on match conduct. (They even volunteered for an extra match before their elimination round to ensure all present teams had a chance to compete in at least 7 matches. These students not only showcased Tiger Pride on the competition field but also in the pits and stands, representing our school admirably.)
These students have dedicated significant time and effort, often working 5-10 hours outside class per week after school and on weekends. Our season is ongoing. On January 13th, we'll host a tournament at EHS. 3743C heads to a two-day national tournament in February with 4 World Championship qualification spots. Our other teams have three more tournaments scheduled before the State Championships on March 2nd at Kent Denver Academy.
