7-12 Distance Learning Information
School started on April 1st. All classes will utilize Microsoft Teams; students will need to login to their school-issued email account ending in @k12.nd.us
Learner expectations:
1.Complete assigned homework
2. Check-in with each teacher at least once a week through Teams; attend class meetings when they are scheduled or communicate with teacher if you can not attend.
3. Check email and Teams activity twice per day

EMT Class
Students in EMT class practiced using EpiPens earlier this month.
FCS II
Students in FCS II participated in two chopped-style contests; with beef & chicken. Each team had to include three secret ingredients given to them at the beginning of the class period to create a unique entree.
National Guard Activities
Juniors and Seniors had fun participating in various activities organized by the National Guard.
Introduce a Student to Manufacturing Day
7th & 8th grade students attended the manufacturing day at Bobcat in Gwinner in early March.
Here is a brief overview of 6 activities students participated in:
- Witness a Fall on Protection Safety test on a Bobcat Loader cab (a real-life test Bobcat performs routinely)
- Computer Simulation of Structural Stress
- With the students enhanced knowledge of the types of loads Bobcat tests cabs too, students will engage in how Bobcat simulates loading on structures & predicts where they may fail
- Egg Crushing Structure Design
- Using popsicle sticks & the knowledge learned in the prior two activities, design & test a structure similar to a cab that will prevent a falling weight from crushing an egg
- Power of Fluid
- Manipulate a tabletop scale robot to perform tasks, learning more about hydraulics
- Robotics in Action
- Understand how Bobcat uses Robots in its production processes & manipulate a real robot to complete a fun challenge
- RC Obstacle Course
- Using Radio Controlled Bobcats, help coach your partner through an obstacle course focusing on the skills engineers need to communicate in a technical manner
Together Time
Jayden & Tyler organized large group activities for the students.
National Honor Society Volunteering
Students volunteered at Rutland Fun Night.
