Friday was a very active day. We had 3 award ceremonies, hosted demo lesson by TRAHC and were down 2 substitutes. But Team Trice pulled all of this off with great success. I want to thank Ms. Bowden and Ms. Frost for giving up their lunch time to help cover kindergarten lunch, Ms. Tatum and Ms. Dunn for taking classes when substitutes did not show up, Ms. Moya for covering classes so teachers could attend their students' award ceremonies, and Ms. Becky and Ms. Maggie for having sign in sheets and newsletters and just dealing with the volume of people in and out of the office. Thank you teachers for having high expectations for your students' behavior. It was evident that students knew and understood what you expected from them during the ceremonies. I was very proud of them for behaving so well.

Happenings Around Trice

Capt. Proactive

If you have not had a chance to view the Be Proactive skit performed by the drama team, please take a moment and do so. Ms. Stevens and her drama team did a great job creating a play that helps students understand what being proactive means. I hope that you have had a chance to play this in your classrooms and have discussions about what Habit 1-Be Proactive means and how students can apply it to their lives.

K2 assessment survey

The Office of Student Assessment wants feedback from all kindergarten, first, and second grade teachers. Please take a moment to complete a short survey for teachers, testing coordinators (building and district) and administrators around the new K2 assessments. This survey is completely anonymous and we welcome honest feedback. Results will be used to help inform the ADE on how we can better serve schools through this program.

PBIS Survey

Last week you all took a PBIS school climate survey. We would also like for you to take the school snapshot survey as well. This survey is very similar to the first one. It is required by the ADE PBIS team that is working with our district to help us integrate PBIS district wide. The survey was created by Mr. McDonald so we will be able to access the results and start to work on the areas the staff has identified as areas of need. Thank you all for your support with this. I know it will help us get our discipline and behavior moving in a positive direction.

Please remember that you can take the PBIS Overview course on the IDEAS site for professional development hours and to help get a better understanding of PBIS and how it is implemented in schools and classrooms.
