Health Science Theory Students had a visit from Williamson County EMS
Students in Ms. Overfelt's Health Science Theory class were able to take a tour of an ambulance and learn more about the health care industry last week. Health Science Theory teaches our students about basic Health Science practices and helps them to learn about the many roles in the healthcare industry.
Attendance
It is important for students to be in attendance in order to be successful in their classes. Our goal for the campus is to have 95% attendance or higher for the year. In the first 9 weeks we had an attendance rate of 94.51%. To encourage attendance, we will be having a competition over the next 5 weeks. The grade level with the highest attendance will receive a special lunch during the week of December 11th. In order to win the lunch, the grade level attendance rate needs to be at least 95%.
Attendance rate by grade level last week:
9th - 96.02%
10th - 96.77%
11th - 95.54%
12th - 92.73%
ASVAB Testing
Seniors, make sure to bring your Chromebook charged on Tuesday for ASVAB testing. The ASVAB is correctly associated with the military, however, the results are very helpful to all students in considering their abilities and aptitudes towards future careers.
The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is a multiple-aptitude battery that measures developed abilities and helps predict future academic and occupational success in the military. It is administered annually to more than one million military applicants, high school, and post-secondary students.

UT Austin Admission Policy
Senate Bill 175, passed by the 81st Texas Legislature, allows The University of Texas at Austin to limit automatic admission to 75 percent of the university’s enrollment capacity designated for first-time resident undergraduate students.
The University has determined that it will automatically admit all eligible summer/fall 2025 and spring 2026 freshman applicants who rank within the top 6% of their high school graduating classes. A letter from University President Jay C. Hartzell is attached to this correspondence.
