EBC Family,

This Sunday morning during our Worship Service we will be ordaining Troy Freeborn as a deacon. We voted to approve him as a deacon in August but he was unavailable the night we ordained our other deacons. I’m excited for you to hear Troy’s testimony and how God has been working in his life this year.

Because so many of you wanted Scripture Journals for our new sermon series, we ran out of them last Sunday morning. I ordered more that should be here by this weekend. Each week I will take time during the sermon to show you how to mark a passage of Scripture to help you see various themes and connections. But don’t just mark the things I point out to you, read the passage on your own each day during the week and mark the things that seem significant. Be on the lookout for repeated words and concepts - those are big clues as to what’s most important. Make special note of any words or phrases that remind you of other passages of Scripture - look those passages up and write the Scripture address in your Journal. This coming Sunday we will be studying 2 Corinthians 1:8-11. Get a head start by reading it and looking for keywords and ways it connects to the rest of the Bible.
