• This week, we are collecting toiletry items for our Food Pantry Friday initiative. The class with the most donations gets to choose what animal Mr. Tomlin has to dress up as for a day!
  
  
• Be on the lookout for a colorful Parent Information Envelope coming home soon! You will find important information about a safe and easy way your family can help our school get the essential tools our students and teachers need to succeed. It will also let you know how your child can win fun prizes just for helping!
  

We hope to see you for our Fall Family Night on Tuesday, October, 24th from 5-7! Wear your costumes for indoor trick-or-treating, free dinner, free Kona ice (for students), and literacy stations. Our Byrd Parent Group is setting up a fun, creepy courtyard! The book fair will be open for family shopping. Also, the Goochland Library will be at school to sign you up for a library card! If you are able, please send in a bag of candy for the event by 10/23.

If you would like to volunteer at the Fall Book Fair you will receive 10% off all purchases (no experience is necessary). Sign up to volunteer by clicking HERE! The Book Fair is a fundraiser for the school library, and makes up the majority of the library budget. The money is used to purchase books, maker space supplies, robotics, and to fund programs for students. Please support our school at the Book Fair!

Congratulations to our October student of the month winners! These students have done an excellent job showing our SOAR (safe, optimistic, accountable, respectful) expectations!

The goal of Unity Day is to bring together youth, parents, educators, businesses, and community members across the nation to emphasize the message that bullying is not acceptable and that all students deserve to be safe in school, online, and in the community. Please join us on Thursday, October 26th by wearing orange to symbolize our unity as a school that is kind, inclusive, and accepting.

Join the BPG on Monday, October 9th for a scarecrow making party and then stick around afterwards for the monthly meeting! Sign up HERE.

The Goochland Christmas Mother will be accepting applications for assistance on Saturday, October 14th and Saturday, October 21st from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM at the Goochland Middle School Cafeteria. To learn more about the application process, visit the website HERE.

Please notify the office about transportation changes via email at: beseagles@glnd.k12.va.us.

If you have daily transportation needs, please make sure you provide changes at the beginning of each week for the entire week. This allows staff time to communicate all necessary changes and avoids confusion when a call is not received. We appreciate your support.

Parents who wish to chaperone a field trip or volunteer regularly in our school must submit to a background check every 2 years using the BIB portal.The process is completely electronic. If you are having problems with the system, contact Demetra Harris at dharris@glnd.k12.va.us.
