Grewenow Community Service Project
Now that Nolan is going for another million, we are asking the Grewenow School community to help. Nolan's been featured on CBS 58's Natalie's Everyday Heroes, and to learn more about the cause and Nolan's family's story, you can watch & read the story here.
Next week, the oldest or only student of in-person families will bring home a container for aluminum pop top tab collection (virtual families may pick theirs up with other materials) and our goal is to collect at least 3000 tabs in the next four weeks (that's about 10 tabs per student), but the more the better. If your container gets filled, your student may bring it back to school with them or drop their tabs off at the main office entrance.

Wisconsin Forward Exam
Students in grades 3-5 are scheduled to take the Wisconsin Forward Exam March 22, 2021 - May 14, 2021. This test gives students, families, and teachers insights into the learning progress that our students have made, and the results are the main driver for our school's report card. Our results on this exam over the years are also the reason Grewenow has been named a Title I School of Recognition for 5 consecutive years and 6 of the last 8.
Regardless of whether families selected in-person or virtual learning this year, ALLstudents will need to take the test at Grewenow Elementary School. We will take every precaution to ensure a safe testing environmen including social distancing, flexible schedules and the frequent sanitization of student spaces and equipment.
Virtual students will test in a completely separate area away from their in-person learning peers..
Families, who do not wish for their student(s) to take the test may complete this short Google Form OR send a letter/email to Mr. Sellenheim, stating that no later than Feb. 26, 2021.
For more information, please open the letter below (linked in both English and Spanish)

Student Masks
Please make sure your child arrives at school with a mask. We’ve noticed a recent uptick in the number of students forgetting. Though we have masks in the office for use “in a pinch” our supply is limited. A mask is required at all times in the building unless students are eating.

Hours of the School Day
End time: 2:26 PM
Fridays: Early Release: 11:21AM
No Parking lot use before/after school
Please do NOT pull into the Grewenow parking lot to pick up or drop off your student(s) before or after school. We have many students who walk through the lot to line up on the north playground, and we don’t want anyone to run the risk of hitting a walker accidentally. The only vehicles in the lot after school are our buses and they do not depart until after the majority of walkers are off school grounds.
