Evergreen Elementary School will be holding our annual Veteran’s Day Celebration on Friday, November 11th. The students will begin the day by gathering around our flag at 8:45 to say the Pledge of Allegiance with the Carol Stream Fire Department. Community members are welcome to join us!
Evergreen students and staff will participate in an assembly on Friday at 1:45 P.M. We will be honoring the service of veterans and the men and women in our Armed Forces. We have invited veterans and their families to join us. Those families that are attending the reception and assembly, please pre-register for the event by coming to the Evergreen office with a photo ID. This will allows us to quicken our procedure when we have guests in the building.
We are asking that all students in scouting organizations wear their uniforms that day and students wear red, white and blue.
This year we are supporting the Blue Star Moms of Illinois. The Blue Star Moms work to support active duty military and veterans with cards, letters of encouragement and needed donations. Evergreen School is proud to help out by collecting much needed items. See the list below for requested donations. The piles of food donation items on our table is growing by the day! We are still in need of granola bars! Thank you so much for your generosity!!!!
