PVES "In the Know" Newsletter
December 2019 Edition
A Busy Month
The month of December is a wonderful and exciting time in the life of our school, but also an extremely busy and stressful stretch for our school. Please ensure that your child stays focused on his or her school work and is present at school as each day is important and builds upon the next. Continue to communicate with your child's teacher and ask how you can best support your child's learning at home.
In this newsletter, we front-load the very busy month of December in hopes that our school community will be able to enjoy the many events and opportunities scheduled during the next three weeks prior to Christmas break. Our district breakfast and lunch menus are posted below as is our invitation to our "A Charlie Brown Literacy Night" event on December 5th. Thank you for your support of our school! I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! #pvespride
Sincerely,
Brad Moore
Principal
Arrival and Dismissal Reminders
The bell rings at 2:35 P.M. to signal the end of our school day. Students are then escorted to the bus circle or the multi-purpose room/cafeteria for dismissal. Parents should avoid coming to the front office for early dismissals after 2:00 P.M. Anyone picking up a Powdersville Elementary School student in the afternoon must have the appropriate car hang tag displayed in the vehicle. If there is no car hand tag, the individual will be asked to pull into our overflow lot and come to the main office to show proper identification before picking up the student. When entering our loading zone, please pull up as far as you can. Do not motion for your child to enter the vehicle. Students will be told by appropriate staff when it is safe to load. Only parents who have a student at PVES should wait in our overflow lot for a middle or high school student. Please use parking spots to wait and do not block traffic or park on the grass.
