Wine Drive: Donate a bottle (or more) of wine valued at $30+! We will be selling this wine at our May live auction event "Bocce, Bubbles & BBQ." Volunteers will be stationed along the front of the school and Dapplegray to collect out your car window Thursday, March 17th, during drop off between 7:45-8am and pick up between 11:30-12:15. Alternatively, you can drop off at the Hamilton’s: 350 David Dr in Alamo (any time Thursday 3/17 between 8am - 7pm).
*If you would like a receipt for your donation, please put a post it/sticker with your name on the wine OR email Echo at ehamilton@srvusd.net.
Volunteer opportunities: The nominating committee is looking to fill open Ed Fund Board positions for the 2022-2023 school year. If you are interested or just want to learn more, please fill out this Google form and we will be in touch!
Sloat Garden Center: This is the final “Growing up Green” week of the school year! Mention Alamo Elementary School at any Sloat Garden Center from March 18-27 and we will receive 10% back to use for our school garden areas and flowerpots. Last month we earned a $25 gift card to use on school beautification projects.
Farm Fresh to You: We currently have 5 supporters using our promo code who have earned almost $40 so far this quarter. Imagine what a few more participants could earn! Use promo code ALAMO to send 10% of every delivery back to the Ed Fund! Anyone in their delivery area (most of CA) can use the code, so share with family and friends. View this flyer, or check out their website to add in the promo code. New and existing members can also apply the promo code MAR22PERK2 to their accounts to get an extra $15 off their next order (valid only in March).
Your Ed Fund Dollars at Work: We are busy taking photos of many of our staff members who are supported by your donations to the Ed Fund. Since parent access to campus is still quite limited, many of these individuals’ efforts are not as visible as in the past, but they are working harder than ever! This week we are highlighting Mrs. Negherbon, one of our newest paraeducators!.
In a Fall survey that polled our teachers’ greatest needs this year, paraprofessional help was far and away the #1 request. The Ed Fund was thrilled to be able to fund two additional paraprofessional positions this year, and both new staff started in January.

The SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR WAS A HUGE SUCCESS! We sold over $10,700 in books and supplies, and we profited over $4,700 to go towards growing our brand new library, as well as fulfilling all of the teacher’s wishlists for their classrooms. The kids loved being able to buy books during their lunch hour and after school. Thank you to all the parents who volunteered during the week and a HUGE kudos to Priscilla Khuns, our school librarian! And a special Shout out to our Student Leadership Team for coordinating a Book Drive for our Sister School, Dover Elementary!
This month is our last Harvest of the Month for the school year. The kids are learning about Spinach. We are looking for a volunteer to run this program next year. Please contact dianafinster@gmail.com if interested.
Volunteer Opportunity: We need your help at lunchtime! Alamo needs your help in making sure our kids are having a fun, friendly, and well-supervised lunch recess. Volunteering for yard duty is a great way for your child to see you helping out at school and a great way for you to see them in their element. Please consider giving less than an hour of your day by signing up here.
Yearbooks are on sale now and we need your pics! Any Alamo families wishing to contribute to yearbook picture taking this year can snap pics at every Alamo School event, and share them via HJeshare.com, School Code AlamoYB. Please remember to include event names for our committee to organize them into the yearbook.
If you still need to purchase a 2021/22 Yearbook, you can do so at yearbookordercenter.com, School Code 12361. For 5th grade families, you can purchase a personalized message with pics to your graduating 5th grader for an additional $25. Please email nicolerocca@gmail.com or ajitpalp@gmail.com with any questions.
We are actively looking for volunteers to join the PTA for the 2022-23 school year. With school normalizing, we have so many fun things planned for our school but we will not be able to do them without volunteer support. Please email dianafinster@gmail.com if interested. Moms, Dads and all Caregivers welcome!
