OSEA Chapter 48 ~ Our Voices
March 2019
President's Message:
March is going to be an exciting month, so I hope you are ready! The first weekend in March, OSEA members from across the state will gather to discuss important issues with state legislators for Legislative Education Day.
That will roll right into Classified Employees Appreciation Week. What an amazing group of employees! We are right at the heart of serving our students and community, ensuring their safety, well-being, and quality education. Take minute to show your fellow classified employees some appreciation! Then, gear up for our Classified Employee Appreciation event! There are some details below-- you won't want to miss it!
We also have chapter elections coming up. All chapter members will be able to vote for next year's executive board, which includes the chapter officers (President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary) as well as one representative for each of the classification areas (Custodial/Maintenance, Nutrition Services, Clerical/Technical, Transportation, and Instructional Support.) Members will also be voting on delegates to attend the OSEA conference. The selected delegates will vote on important OSEA issues on behalf of the chapter. Start thinking of who you would like to nominate anyone for a position on the chapter executive board or as a conference delegate.
We look forward to seeing you at our Classified Employee Appreciation Event!
Thank you again, for all that you do!

We heard from farm workers, a first generation college student, a teacher from Portland public & some leaders from the OEA & all around.
What a great day! Saw many BEA, OSEA & BSD District friends, as well as friends from all our neighboring districts. What a sea of beautiful red!
