Happy (unofficial) Fall Break, Thompson community!
As the leaves begin their vibrant transformation, may this long weekend be your chance to recharge your spirits amidst the outdoors as autumn and winter approach.
It was great to see all the parents and guardians in the building this week for Parent-Teacher Conferences, discussing the incredible journey of our students. I hope that during these conferences, you've received tidings of success or at least glimpses of areas where we can grow and flourish together. With the first quarter drawing to a close next week, let's rally our scholars, to ensure they've handed in all their hard work and are prepared for any end-of-quarter challenges that may come their way.
Reflecting on this past week, Thompsons students have left indelible marks in various arenas. Our first choir concert of the year unfolded outside the gymnasium, in front of Door 4 on Wednesday. There was a proud gathering of staff, parents and relatives, showering our 6th-grade choir students with support during their awe-inspiring performance. In athletics, our Cross Country runners dashed through the final meet at the Fox Trot in Yorkville with sheer brilliance. The TMS volleyball teams, who enter post-season play next week, played extremely well at all levels in thrilling matches against Wredling at St. Charles East High School. The atmosphere was electric in East gym, and that energy was duplicated at North football field on Wednesday as our Varsity and JV football teams brought their season to a close against Wredling. Both teams showcased unwavering dedication, even in the face of fourth-quarter battles. While I might not be known for my "fiery" demeanor, I am very competitive. So I wanted to share the picture of the scoreboard, which brings me joy.
I'm excited to see this momentum continue, as we usher in the beauty of fall and all the opportunities it brings. So, here's to a wonderful break, a fantastic quarter ahead, and a vibrant season of growth and success for all!
