From the Principal... Matt Clark
Ah, December, the global superstar of months, the time when the world collectively decides to throw a colossal party. Seriously, when did December get this popular? It's like the entire planet received an invitation to a year-end shindig, and nobody wants to miss out. I can remember as a youth having a holiday concert, a party or two and some time with extended family. As opposed to the next couple of weeks in the Clark family with a gymnastics meet, two soccer games, two family parties in Michigan, two work parties, at least six Secret Santas, and a partridge in a pear tree… And that doesn’t include all the fun events we’re hosting here at Thompson. I love progress and staying busy, but would be lying if I didn’t share that sometimes I yearn for the simpler things. Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

Kane County Judges Presentation - December 14th "Worries of the World Wide Web"
We are excited to have our Kane County judges, Judge Hull and Judge Parga, present to our families December 14th at 5:00 pm in the TMS LRC on "Worries of the World Wide Web". Please join us to preview what your student(s) will hear on December 15th at our grade level assemblies. “Worries of the World Wide Web” is a 50-60 minute program created to address the increasing problem of cyber bullying, electronic harassment, and sexting/pornography. The program is geared toward middle school and addresses the social and legal consequences of this potentially criminal conduct with a goal of increasing awareness of what cyberbullying, harassment, and sexting is; and how it may impact the lives of those students who participate in these activities.
District 303 alumni Judge Clint Hull and Judge Sandra Parga created the program after talking to middle school teachers who indicated that their students were being negatively impacted through their use of social media. Judge Parga and Hull along with other Kane County Judges have been presenting the program throughout Northern Illinois Counties to both students and their parents for the past six years. In 2016-17, the Illinois Judges Association (IJA) worked with Judges Boles and Hull and expanded the program statewide. The first training session for the program was conducted in January of 2017 where over seventy judges were trained to give this presentation. The program was recently updated in 2022. You may opt your student out of this assembly by emailing: samuel.pasholk@d303.org
