Patriot Peek at the New School Year
Back to School 2022-2023
Dear Wolf Ridge Students and Families,
I would like to personally invite you back to school for the 2022-2023 school year. I am honored to begin my fifth year as your principal. Our dedicated team at Wolf Ridge is preparing to make this year the best yet. Whether just beginning the journey of learning in preschool or kindergarten, finding the way in the elementary years, or navigating junior high, we want all our students to thrive!
The school-wide theme this year is “Wolf Ridge Road Trip: Destination Success”. We want to help students to both set and reach their goals. We have many exciting plans to ensure no obstacles get in the way during the start of our trip together. We will host an informational meeting for parents of kindergarten students and new students on August 15th in the Wolf Ridge Library. This event is for parents/guardians only. We encourage you to bring your child’s school supplies for drop off on this evening. Preschool students will have an orientation day on Friday, August 19th before their first day on August 22nd. We will also have a special Supply Stop & Drop Night on August 16th for 1st-7th grade students from 5:30-6:30. Please check out the informational flyers for these events below for more details.
Our first day of school for K-12 students will be on August 17th from 8:10-2:00. Students may still be dropped off in the carline starting at 7:30. If you need childcare either before or after school this year, please consider registering your child for the Patriot Advantage Club (PAC). PAC operates each morning starting at 6:00 AM and ends at 6:00 PM each evening. Families will again receive a tag with a number that should be displayed on your rearview mirror of your vehicle for pickup afterschool in the carline. As you all know, the first couple weeks are always more difficult during arrival and dismissal as we learn new routines. We greatly appreciate your patience and support.
I hope you realize how much I truly care for each of our students at Wolf Ridge. Our entire Wolf Ridge staff is committed to your child’s education and well-being. I want to ensure each child has a positive start to his/her school year. Please email me at sronen@bhcusd.org with any questions, concerns, or suggestions you may have about this school year. I have no doubt there will be twists and turns along our journey of learning, but we will navigate it successfully and have fun along the way. We will take this road trip together!

Sincerely,
Mrs. Ronen, Principal

DROP OFF & PICK UP AT WOLF RIDGE
WOLF RIDGE DROP OFF:
PreK students and their siblings can be dropped off in the front circle by the cafeteria double doors. Kindergarten can drop off in the front circle on their child's first day of school only by the main entrance. Parents may walk kindergarten students into the building on the first day only. It would help if these groups do not drop off until closer to 8:00am to avoid interference with our buses. If you do drop off at the same time as the buses, please remember that you are never allowed to pass a stopped school bus.
All other students should be dropped off in the car line just off of East Alton Street anytime between 7:30-8:10. PAC students can be dropped off at this same location anytime between 6:00-8:00. We will be there to greet you each day!
If you have any questions about bussing, please contact the unit office at 618-585-3116.
WOLF RIDGE PICK UP:
If you are picking your child up from school at Wolf Ridge, you will need a car tag. Car tags will be distributed by teachers at both Kindergarten Orientation and Stop&Drop Night. If you do not get your car tag at one of our back to school events, please contact the school office at 618-585-4831. We will let you know your special number. These tags will be sent home on the first day if not picked up prior to the end of the first day. While we have made special car tags, please feel free to write the number on a blank sheet of paper and put it in your car window so that it is visible to our dismissal crew if you forget it or don't have it on your child's first day. The numbers have changed since last year.
Students in preschool will not need a car tag as they will be picked up at the preschool double doors in front of the building by the cafeteria.
PAC students can be picked up anytime from 3:30-6:00 just inside the cafeteria. Please enter the building through the double doors in front of the cafeteria where the awning is located. Students in this program need to be signed out each day by an approved pick up person.
