BHS Happenings

Congratulations to our newest champions, BHS' Football Team on their Class 'S' State Championship this past weekend! The Warhawks had a regular season record of 8-1 and this was the 10th State Championship for the Warhawks! We look forward to celebrating all of our fall student-athletes at the Fall Sports Banquet this Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in the BHS Auditorium.

We are excited for BHS' Holiday Concert this Thursday, December 14th at 6:30 p.m. in the BHS Auditorium! Come out and support the musical talents of our students as they perform with the BHS Band or Chorus. You are guaranteed to leave in the holiday spirit!

Quarter 2 Progress Reports will be available on your PowerSchool Parent Portal this upcoming Monday, December 18th. Please make sure to check your child's progress in Quarter 2 which will end on January 19th, followed by midterms. There are late buses available to students who need to stay after for extra help on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday of each week. Late buses come at 4:00 p.m.

Football:

• This past Saturday, BHS' Football Team won the Class 'S' State Championship defeating Cromwell/Portland, 42-20. This is the 10th championship in school history for the Warhawks. Touchdowns for the Warhawks were scored by: Davien Kerr (3), Davion Kerr (2), and Zakyi Kimber (1). Congratulations to all the coaches and student-athletes on a great season!

SAT prep sessions will begin on Thursday, December 14th for all registered students. Students should report to the auditorium at 2:30 p.m. for further instructions. SAT prep courses will run through the March SAT Day.

Congratulations to BHS' Girls Varsity Soccer Team! The girls have been named the 2023 recipient of the Keith Johnson Sportsmanship Award. This award is voted on each year by the Central Connecticut Soccer Officials Association and given to a girls' varsity program that demonstrates sportsmanship throughout the entire season, no matter if they are winning or losing.

Last Thursday, BHS' Agriscience Center hosted its Annual Holiday Bazaar. A great time was had by all, with so many different activities for everyone to partake in. The center was filled with children who were busy: making ornaments, crafting gingerbread houses, checking out the animals at the petting zoo, or enjoying some time with Santa. Thank you to all of our many student helpers as well as the Agriscience faculty and staff that made this event possible.

On Saturday, December 2nd, BHS' Voices of Inspiration Choir brought the holiday spirit to the town green, where they performed at Bloomfield's Christmas Tree Lighting. The choir performed an array of Christmas carols for the audience. Special thanks to the beautiful student soloist of the evening Aubrey Cassiano, student production assistant Joshua Grant and student technical assistant Isaiah Joyce.

The music department will be in concert at Bloomfield High School on Thursday, December 14th at 6:30 p.m. Don't miss this opportunity to hear our amazing band an award-winning chorus!
