Brookview is always looking for ways to better serve our students, families, and community. Please take a few moments to participate in our Climate and Culture survey that our school will be participating in starting Monday, February 18, 2019 through Friday, March 15th.
Thank you very much for your time and effort in participating.
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dear Parents,
Research shows that supporting your child's education at home is vital to their academic achievement and growth. Here are some quick tips that will help you stay involved with your child's education:
- Look at your child's completed work to find out what they are learning, how well they are comprehending, and what needs to be reviewed.
- Respond to notes from your child's teacher and sign the weekly folder or daily planner if required.
- It's your child's responsibility to do their homework but as a parent, you play a role too! Make sure they know what they are suppose to do by reviewing the assignment together. After the assignment is complete, glance over the work to make sure that it is complete.
- Whatever your child's is interesting in, expand their learning by taking him/her to the library to research the subject, to the zoo to see live animals, the park to study nature, or a play to observe artistic expression.
Respectfully,
Mrs. April Price, Principal

BREAKFAST FOR STUDENTS
LOST AND FOUND
We currently have many personal items in the Lost and Found bins located in the school cafeteria. Please check with your child and if they are missing any clothing, jackets, lunchboxes, or other personal items, please have them check our bins.
OUTSIDE RECESS
As the weather is turning colder, please keep in mind that your child is still expected to go outside for recess. Students have a 30 minute recess each day. Every student will go outside unless there are unforeseen circumstances. Our district temperature threshold is 20 degrees for going outside with the wind chill also being taken into consideration. In other words, if the temperature is 25 but the wind chill falls below 20 degrees, students would remain indoors for recess. Recess is good for students socially and physically, however there may be times where students are not feeling well. If a parent requests that their child remain indoors, they can write a letter with that request for up to 2 days. If it is longer than 2 days, a note from a doctor will be required to keep the student in from recess. Please ensure that your child is prepared to enjoy their recess by dressing them appropriately for the colder temperatures.
HEALTHY CELEBRATIONS
While we love to celebrate, please remember that there is a
“No birthday treats" district policy. To access fun and helpful resources for healthy celebration ideas please visit the district wellness policy by clicking on this link.
