Hello Bobcat Families,
As we embark on the last quarter of the school year, it’s important to ask yourself if you are helping your child live a healthy lifestyle. Seeing as we are just shy of one year into our "new' way of covid-impacted living and learning, it's important to continue to keep good routines and expectations for school whether your child is learning in-person or remotely.
Are you setting your child up for success by helping him establish healthy habits?
- Do you enforce a regular bedtime? Being well-rested will help your child focus during school hours.
- Do you provide breakfast for your child? Research shows that students who skip breakfast in the morning don’t do as well with learning as students who do eat breakfast.
- Do you encourage your child to eat nutritious snacks, including fruits and vegetables?
- Do you encourage your child to have an outlet for stress? As the weather begins to turn warmer, allowing children to de-stress by getting outside for good ol' fashioned fresh air is a great way for them to regulate their levels.
If you answered yes to these questions, that means you are helping your child establish healthy habits. If not, it's never too late!
Stay motivated,
Candice
THANK YOU ENCHANTED BACKPACK!!!
Enchanted Backpack was started with the belief that all children deserve to have the tools they need to learn and excel. They also believe that all teachers deserve to have what they need to make their classrooms exciting learning centers. To be awarded a visit, our school filled out a form to be considered. Then Mrs. Del Prete and Mrs. McKiernan (who originally filled out the application form) went through an interview process. Through this interview we were able to talk about our amazing school and why a donation would be helpful to our teachers and students.
The generosity of this organization is nothing short of amazing! Our teachers and students have already had the chance to reap the benefits of the donation, and will continue to do so as more supplies are sorted and passed out.
5 Minute Parent Survey - We are at 3%, We need 20%!!!
Dear Parents,
Currently, students and teachers across Illinois will have an opportunity to participate in the seventh annual statewide Illinois 5Essentials Survey. This survey is designed to generate a detailed picture of the inner workings of your child’s school. As a parent, this opportunity will allow you to share your thoughts on the important elements of school effectiveness in a survey about your child’s school.
Your participation in the parent portion of the survey will help us understand the conditions at our school and guide improvement. Your identity and survey responses will be kept completely confidential and will never be connected to you or your child.
The deadline to take this survey is April 2, 2021. To take the survey please visit http://survey.5-essentials.org/illinois/survey/parent/ and select the appropriate survey to begin. The survey will take you about 5 minutes to complete.
Thank you for your support to our school!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Del Prete

Don't forget! FULLY CHARGED chromebooks are essential for remote learning!
Attendance Procedures
Teachers will be tracking attendance in Google Classroom so you will not need to fill out an attendance form each day. The classroom teacher will handle this for you.
Don't Be Late!
8:10AM 1st Bell
8:15AM Tardy Bell
1:45PM School Dismissed
All students arriving late to school (after 8:15AM) must report to the office for a tardy slip. Every 5th tardy a note will be sent home. Continuous tardiness may constitute other disciplinary consequences. Our goal is for all students to arrive at school on time each day. When students are late, they miss instructional opportunities. Please keep in mind that students arriving after 9:15AM are no longer considered tardy, but will instead receive a half day absence.
Being late is detrimental to all students' learning, especially if it occurs on a consistent basis. Be sure to do all you can to prevent tardiness. Your child will thank you for it!
