Parent Newsletter - March
Message from Principal Mickey Replogle
Hello Spartan Family,
As we head into the month of March, I am excited to update you on the latest happenings at our school. This month promises to be full of exciting events and opportunities for our students, and we are committed to ensuring that every student has a positive and enriching experience at Bixby High School.
Firstly, I would like to remind parents that Spring Break is scheduled for March 13th-20th. Students will return to school on Tuesday, the 21st. We hope all students will utilize this time to refresh and commit to finishing out our school year strong.
In addition, our students our finishing several events, activities, and winter sports. I had the pleasure of attending the National Honor Society induction last week. Congratulations to the multitude of scholars that have achieved greatness in the classroom. Our boys and girls wrestling teams recently competed at the state tournament and represented BHS well with a 3rd place team finish for our boys and a 2nd place team finish for our girls while also breaking or tying a multitude of program records. Our girls and boys basketball teams continue their playoff runs toward the state tournament. Our girls were crowned Regional champions with their emphatic win over Owasso 74-22. Our boys are headed to the Area tournament as well after finishing runner-up at the Regional tournament after a questionable last second goal by Moore. We are proud of the hard work and dedication our students put into these events and look forward to celebrating their achievements with them.
On the Fine Arts side of things we have our Masterworks Choir concert coming up the first week of March and our band is about to embark on a once in a lifetime trip to Ireland to participate in the International Band Parade and Competition as well as the Dublin St. Patrick's Day Parade. March also signals the start of our Spring sports season as baseball, softball, soccer, golf and track and field open their seasons.
Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to remind parents of the importance of regular attendance and punctuality. As we approach the end of the school year, it is crucial that students attend classes regularly and arrive on time to ensure they are receiving the best education possible.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership in your child's education. Together, we can help our students achieve their full potential.
Sincerely,
Mickey Replogle

FCS Day at the Capitol
Bixby FCCLA took three officers to FCS Day at the Capitol on Feb. 15th. Students were educated as a group on what topics they needed to cover with our legislators to help them understand how important it is that FCCLA classes continue to get funding. Students also learned that having Career Tech programs in the school improves the scoring on the A-F grading for the district! Finally, students were able to visit with House Representative Chris Banning and Senator Joe Newhouse and sit in on the senate voting of SB 613.
