Mr. Posick's Friday email

It's hard to believe that the first quarter of the school year is over today. Monday starts quarter two and with that comes the change for electives for some of our students. Please check Skyward so that you have your child's updated schedule. Our 7th and 8th grade students will also be taking the ACT/Aspire test over the next couple of weeks. This test allows us to check on our progress with our curriculum while also comparing ourselves to area districts. There won't be any weird schedule changes on testing days as the students will take these tests in their content area classrooms. If you have any questions about the schedules or the ACT/Aspire testing, don't hesitate to ask.

It's less than two weeks to Seussical Jr. The cast, crew, and directors have been hard at work since September to put together a great show. See the flyer below for showtimes and the opportunity to buy tickets. The kids will be amazing!

The Intermediate School is having a book fair November 4th-7th. We could really use some volunteers to help us make things run smoothly. Would you please consider volunteering to help out? Check out the link below. We appreciate your time.

On Thursday, November 7th, we'll be having student/family conferences at the Intermediate School. These are arena style with no reservations needed. The 5th and 6th grade teachers will be in their classrooms. 7th and 8th grade teachers will be in the gym. Specials teachers will also be available. We ask you to bring your student with you to conferences and to attempt to hold the conferences to 5 minutes. We look forward to seeing you there!

On Saturday, November 9th, there is a STEM Expo at MSOE from 10:30-2:30. The event is free and open to the public. Here is a link to the website with more information.

It's not too soon to start thinking about your 8th grade child's transition to Arrowhead. Mrs. Meissner sent home a letter via email this week that explains a parent night as well as information about the PreACT test that is required for some advanced coursework at Arrowhead.
