AJHS Staff Party!
We are so excited to celebrate our amazing staff during our early release next week. Just a little bit of homework in advance. Our activity takes place in teams - so find a group of 7-10 people and create a team. Please come up with a team name (required) and feel free to have a team uniform/theme (not required but fun). List your team and members on the doc below before Tuesday. If you need help finding a team, just email Dana. Assistants, Office Staff, and Nurse are all included!
Orchestra Students Playing on Friday Morning
From Nicole
I have prepared my 7th graders to play holiday music and hope to perform from 7:35-7:45 a.m. in the Fine Arts lobby next Friday, Dec. 20. Those who wish to participate and can come early will just show up and do it. Hope to see you there!

Please place your holiday cards in the bin :)
Winter Break Construction Update
Over winter break the lighting will be upgraded to LED lighting in both existing gyms and the cafeteria. This work is being performed as part of the phase 2 work at AJHS and is being done now in an effort to get ahead for the summer given the large scope of work.
25-26 Scheduling
Please fill out a short survey on your scheduling preferences for next year. BLT will review the survey at their next meeting. It's hard to believe we have to start thinking about that again already!
Access Testing
Access testing coming in February. Students will miss classes during the week of February 10. BLT considered an extended advisory schedule for the week so they wouldn't miss classes, but for this year, it was decided that we will run a regular schedule. Students will be excused for all work they miss during this time. A more detailed schedule will be provided after winter break.
7th Grade Staff Snowflake Interest Form
Thank you to all of the 7th grade staff for signing up for Snowflake 25! We are in need of more teacher volunteers and are opening up the opportunity to all staff. All staff members are invited to volunteer to participate in Snowflake 2025 which is being held on Thursday, February 27, 2025! This would entail being assigned to a small group (15-17) of 7th grade students and working together with two Stevenson High School leaders to facilitate and participate in small group activities throughout the day as well as supervising/chaperoning your group in large group assemblies throughout the day.
Volunteers will be provided with a pizza lunch, warm fuzzies, a commemorative Snowflake 2025 t-shirt, and a day filled with education and memory making!
***By volunteering for Snowflake, you are foregoing plan time and a duty free lunch on the Snowflake program day. We are excited to let you know that by volunteering for Snowflake, you may leave when the students leave from February 27th until Spring Break!! Thank you, Dana!
Please fill out the form below demonstrating interest by Tuesday, December 17th.Staff Snowflake Interest Form

ILT Update
This year, as part of the 8th grade advisory program, ALL 8th grade students will reflect on how they have developed the D102 Portrait of a Graduate skills during their time in District 102 or previous school experiences if they are new to D102. ILT feels it will be valuable for all students to consider their strengths as they have developed over their time before high school.
On December 12 and 13, advisory teachers will review a Portrait of a Graduate presentation with their classes. Students will be provided with a Google Doc template (which they should copy and name for themselves) to draft their answers to a series of reflective questions and will have time to work during advisory between January 21-24. Final submissions will be made on a Google survey (they can copy and paste from their drafts in the Google Doc). Students who wish to spend additional time outside of advisory will have until January 31st to submit their forms. After that date, advisory teachers will be provided with a list of students who have submitted forms and we will ask that you follow up with any students whose are missing.
While all students will be expected to submit the reflection, they will also answer questions regarding interest in being considered for their photograph to be on the POG poster, to be considered as the graduation speaker, to be considered for both, or will let us know they are not interested in either.
The advisory calendar will be updated and with links to necessary presentations and forms prior to the scheduled dates. Forms are linked here as well, and the presentation slides will be added to the calendar when they are ready.
