Principal's Message
Good Evening RMS Families!
Happy Mother’s Day Weekend. Friday, May 8th was the last student assignments day. Moving forward from now until May 28th, there are optional student enrichment activities for students to work on to continue sharpening their skills. Students are able to utilize tools such as Imagine Math, Lexia, and Discovery Ed. More information will come from PCSSD.
We have received many questions from students and families about closing out the school year and what that entails. This week, we have a team ready to clean out lockers and box up student items. We have also established a time for students to pick up items as well as return chromebooks, textbooks and/or library books (the timeline is listed below). It is essential that families try to make it to the assigned pick-up days in order to better meet the needs of all students. Parents will come through the car-line lanes and must remain in the car at all times and follow the directions posted as well as the staff directing the traffic flow. Please follow CDC Guidelines.
Drop Off-Pick Up Days (10:00am- 1:00pm)
Tuesday, May 19th- 8th Graders
Wednesday, May 20th- 7th Graders
Thursday, May 21st- 6th Graders
Additionally, we are holding a virtual end of the year assembly to honor students for being outstanding in regards to academics, special achievement awards, 4.0 grade point honorees, group celebrations and the Senator Strong Principal’s Awards. Save the date as the celebration will be held on May 18, 2020 at 2:30pm. Virtual Link will be sent to families on the morning of the celebration.
Our team cannot stress our appreciation for our school community. We truly love our Robinson Senators and this year we have had the opportunity to celebrate many of their achievements. While the pandemic has been difficult, we are proud of our school community for doing their best as we all try to support the needs of our students. A huge thank you to our PTO For continuing to dedicate time by volunteering on multiple initiatives, supporting student activities through PTO fundraising, thanking teachers and being supportive to our school throughout the entire year.
It has been a joy to serve our school community and build positive relationships with our students. RMS students are dynamic, caring, inquisitive, thoughtful, funny, brilliant, and growing as compassionate young people. Thank you for allowing me an opportunity to be a part of their experience. Have a great evening and see you virtually on May 18th.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Appiah-McNulty
