Winterguard Preparing for State
The Adair High School winterguard went to the WGI Regional contest this past Saturday to compete with other units from Texas, Arkansas, and Missouri. This contest helped qualify them to go to State contest on April 1st in Yukon. Congratulations to these fine performers!
BHE Warrior Way Winners
Last week's Warrior Way winners were 3rd grade, Shaydyn Kannmore; 1st grade, Emmett Jennings; 5th grade, Trevor Malley; 4th grade, Riley Boyle; 2nd grade, Marlene Estrada. Not pictured Rhett Kennel. Congratulations!
Some students were able to cash in their Warrior Way prizes this past week, by reading to Mrs. Couch and Mrs. Gilstrap's Pre-K classes and baking with an FCCLA officer.
Robotics Competes in FIRST Regional
March 1-4 the A.N.T. attended the FIRST Robotics Competition Arkansas Regional. The robot ended the competition ranked 19 with a W/L record of 6-6. We always promote our program as being more than just robots. We are about building future leaders who can identify problems and find solutions. The students proved that as they took their losses and worked half the way home problem-solving, researching, and redesigning parts of the robot they were not happy with. Our next competition will be in Tulsa April 6-8.
OU Engineering Day
STEMLab students Hannah Hester and Alexandra Delozier, chose to attend the OU Engineering Day February 22. The students designed and built an egg car that would protect 4 eggs during 3 different crashes. They successfully saved their eggs on the first two runs, but lost an egg on the final crash. They were able to tour the engineering quad and speak with different engineering major departments to learn of the many opportunities in the world of engineering.
