As the Principal of our wonderful schools, I wanted to introduce myself and provide a few details and dates about the upcoming school year. Though I have been part of this community since 2004, I can still remember the first time I stepped onto our campus. I was immediately taken by the stunning views, but shortly after, I was equally impressed by the strong sense of community pride that is at the heart of our schools. I am proud that both of my children attended Loma Prieta Elementary and CT English Middle School. It is our mountain pride that makes our schools so special and unique.

Few Reminders for New School Year:

• Both school campuses open at 8:05am. Supervision begins at 8:05. Please contact Bridget at Kids and Co. if you need childcare before campuses open.
• First Day of School is Thursday, August 18: 8:20 am – 12:30 pm. (minimum day)
  
• New Parent’s Welcome Coffee on August 18 at the Gazebo (behind the Gym) for ALL new families from both schools.
  
• Link to Loma classroom supply lists. Link to CT generic school supply list.. CT teachers will be providing a syllabus the first week of school for specific classroom supplies

Parking Lot Etiquette

• Please slow down and be patient with other drivers.
• Please remain with your car in the drop-off or pick-up area.
• Red zones are for emergency vehicles only – this is our fire lane.
• Please do not park in our designated bus loading zones.
• Always watch for pedestrians.
• Please use the right lane for picking up if you only have a CT student. The left lane is dual purpose. The left lane is for picking up at Loma Elementary OR to access the lower parking lot. Because there are cars in the left lane for pick up, it is not a through lane until you get to the top of the hill. Both lanes will stop and back up.
• Please do not cut into the drop-off or pick-up lanes.
• Consider picking up across the bridge or letting your child ride the bus. Thank you for being kind with each other in the parking lot and respecting the directions of our staff who are at the crosswalks and directing traffic.

We encourage you to consider using our school buses to transport your child to and from school to reduce the campus traffic and increase our parking lot safety. Bus pass information will be available at each school office on the first day of school.

Kindergarten dismisses each day at 1:30pm, except on minimum days where students are dismissed at 12:30pm. We will communicate with you when a minimum day occurs.

1st-8th graders are dismissed at 2:45pm, expect for Wednesdays where students are dismissed at 1:30pm.

We are a PEANUT FREE school district. Please do not send your child to school with peanuts or other peanut products including peanut butter.

We do have some classrooms with students who have life threatening allergies to other nuts. If your child has peers in their classroom with allergies to other nuts, your child’s teacher will inform you that your child’s classroom is a nut free space.
