If your Senior is getting ready to go to college or another institution of higher learning and will be needing a Meningitis booster, Parker County Hospital District will be here on March 1, 2017 to administer the Meningitis immunization for those who want it.

Feel free to contact Mrs. Brownlee in the clinic or Mrs. Hoffman in J226 if you have any questions. It is very important that your student return the completed consent form with a copy of current shot record to the clinic or J226 by Monday, February 27th.

The Boys Power Lifting Team traveled to Granbury last week to compete in the District Power Lifting Championship. Jake Beaird, Braden Robertson and Payton Hetrick each placed 1st in their weight classifications, while Kylen Hart placed 3rd in his weight class. Braden Robertson also walked away with the best over all heavy weight class lifter award. The 2nd time he has received this award this year. Over all the team placed 3rd out of the nine teams in the district.

Tickets are on sale for $60 through TUESDAY, February 28. Please buy them early. Tickets will go to $75 March 1 - 31st, then go to $100 April 1 - 19th.

The Dress Exchange is back! If you have dresses you've let sit in the closet too long, come donate it to k204, and let someone else put it to good use! Likewise, if you are in need of an extra dress for, say, PROM, or a banquet, you may come take a peek!

Cheerleading try-outs are coming up on March 10th!

If you are interested in trying out for cheerleader, mascot, cheer manager, or cheer guard , then see Ms. Briggs in room K108. There will also be some try-out packets in the front office!

The Weatherford High School Lincoln-Douglas Debate team traveled Friday night to the 36th Annual Glen Rose High School UIL Academic Invitational Meet.

Brannon Heltzel won two of his three debates, scoring a perfect 30 in one of his matches. He lost his final round to the senior debater from Arlington who ended the night by placing 4th out of 60+ debaters. Brannon lost in the third round by a point margin of 0, but there aren't any ties in debate!

Lauren White won two of her three debates after returning from a loss in the first round. She scored perfect 30s on her two victories.

Lance Roberts lost each of his three rounds, but by point-margins of just one, two, and one, respectively, having proved himself a formidable opponent to each of his highly-experienced (fourth-year and up) matches.

This was the first time for each of our LD debaters to compete at an UIL Academic Debate event. Please congratulate Brannon Heltzel, Lauren White, Lance Roberts, Kaleigh Hancock, Noah Trayler, Aimee Butterworth, and David Hull for their performance and for their bravery at this challenging event.

Baseball Booster Club is now selling Baseball Merchandise by ordering, but some items will be sold at the field.

Attention Seniors – Scholarship season is here! Did you know that last year’s senior class was awarded over $3.5 million dollars in scholarships? Let’s make this year the best year ever for scholarship awards. Many scholarships have deadlines coming up right away. Scholarships are available for all students who have a desire to attend college. Go to the Counseling Office often to get the latest information on scholarships and pick up applications.

Seniors, the $2,500 Tommy Taylor Memorial Scholarship is now available for students planning to major in an energy related field.Applications are available in the Counseling Center and the deadline to apply is March 1, 2017
