NBHS Student Council Announces HOCO23 Parade Marshall - Mrs. Holly Ruppell

The student council is honored to announce that the New Berlin Elementary School Pre-K teacher, Mrs. Holly Ruppel, will serve as this year’s Homecoming Parade Marshal.

Mrs. Ruppel has been teaching at New Berlin Elementary school for 30 years. When asked if she has any special moments or stories from those years she stated, “I do not really have just one special memory or story, but I can tell you the things that I have cherished over the years are the kind words and letters from former students and families that I have served in pre-k. That is what teaching is all about...creating lifelong relationships and making a difference.” When asked about their experiences in Mrs. Ruppel’s class, sophomore student council member, Gabe Molloy said, “I remember Mrs. Ruppel’s class was fun, safe, and the snacks were always good.”

When asked, “Why New Berlin?” Ruppel responded, “I wanted to teach in a small town setting and New Berlin was looking for a pre-K teacher at just the right time. It was the perfect fit!” Ruppel continued telling how New Berlin has impacted her life: “I have built relationships with so many students and families over the years and the community has always been extremely supportive of myself and the pre-k program here at New Berlin Elementary. I cannot thank this community enough for their continued support! I was extremely blessed to get hired by Alice Moss 30 years ago!”

Outside of school, Mrs. Ruppel has been married to her husband, Roger, for 30 years. Together they have a son, Brett, who also works at New Berlin Elementary. In their spare time, Mrs. Ruppel enjoys spending time outside hiking, kayaking, fishing, gardening, and more. Every student and friend of Mrs. Ruppel knows her favorite place in the world is the beach.

Congratulations on 30 years, Mrs. Ruppel! Thank you for touching so many lives here in New Berlin. We hope to celebrate with you at the beach!

Homecoming Timeline

“Rockin’ Among the Stars”

*We will vote for court the Wednesday before homecoming week begins (August 30th) to prepare for the parade.

Friday, September 1st: Deck the Halls (Student Council will meet during advisory/after school at NBHS)

Sunday, September 3rd: Parade (Line up starts at NOON at the fairgrounds. Parade kicks off at 1 P.M.); Powder Puff Game (3 P.M. at Pretzel Field)

Monday, September 4th: NO SCHOOL

Tuesday, September 5th: Star vs Star -- (the shape or famous person)

Wednesday, September 6th: Class Color Day (freshmen—yellow, sophomores--red, juniors--purple, seniors—black, faculty—green); Vote for Homecoming King and Queen (during homeroom)

Thursday, September 7th: Rockstar day OR wear your homecoming t-shirt—which you can order in Mrs. McClarey’s room once an announcement has been made.


Friday, September 8th: Orange and Blue Day

PUMP UP THE PRETZEL PRIDE RALLY @ NBEL - Marching Band/FB/Cheer/VB/Cross Country/Golf/Soccer meet @ 7:45 am and greet NBEL students as they get off the bus to go into school.

Pep Rally (SEE AGENDA BELOW—events will take place in the Dome and at Pretzel Field weather permitting); Game (game begins at 7 P.M. and at halftime, court, float winners, and parade marshal will be announced)
