Introduction

April has been full of fun events and activities as the school year continues to fly by! In May, we will start State testing for 3rd - 6th grades. It is important that students get a good night's sleep and eat a healthy breakfast so they can do their best on these important assessments. Schedules for specific teachers will be coming home with students.

Outdoor Science Camp for 6th Grade Students

Many of our sixth grade students attended Outdoor Science Camp last month. Science Camp gives the sixth graders a once in a lifetime opportunity to spend five days in the mountains learning about science in the woods! One sixth grader said, "It was amazing to see the world's biggest pine cones. They aren't like the ones you see at school. Everything is better in the mountains." The students really enjoyed the hikes and activities at camp while learning about ecology and earth science.

Faley Games

Our SUCSESS students participated in The Faley Memorial CSUF Special Games on Friday, April 21, 2017. At this event, special needs children are paired with local volunteers, to participate in a variety of sporting events. Our students and staff had a great time participating in this fun community event!

Track Team By: Hunter Smith & Marianna Herrera

Did you know that Track and Field was created in Olympia, Greece? Track is when people participate in running around a field, throwing softballs, and jumping long and high. We both are in track and we enjoyed the experience. In the month of April the Palmyra Track team was part of the Foundation Games. During the Foundation Games, students participated in the following activities: running (1 mile, 800 meters, 400 meters, 200 meters, 100 meters, and 50 meters), softball throw, long jump, and high jump. It was a lot of hard work, but fun!
