This Week at GLOBE
News & Notes | March 16, 2022
From the Executive Director
Dear GLOBE community,
I am delighted to announce the appointment of our new Upper Campus Head of School, Priscilla Noble. A trilingual educator (and educator of educators), Dr. Noble will officially assume her role in July.
Dr. Noble joins us from Georgia State University, where she instructs undergraduate and graduate education students and also works closely with student teachers who are completing their Dual Language Immersion practicums in area public schools. Previously, she served as an assistant principal and principal in K–12 dual language immersion schools. Earlier in her career, Dr. Noble worked as a media specialist and a classroom teacher, teaching English for Speakers of Other Languages in elementary school, as well as Algebra, Ecology, and French at the middle and high school levels.
Born and raised in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, Dr. Noble is a native speaker of English and Spanish, and attended a bilingual school where she learned French. As we’ve gotten to know her over the past few months, we’ve been inspired by what a dynamic educator she is, what empathy she brings to her work, and how well her background aligns with our vision for GLOBE. In the final months of this school year, Dr. Noble will be spending time on campus, getting to know more about GLOBE and our community and preparing for a smooth leadership transition.
She will take over from Interim Head of School Marsha Huitt, whose sturdy and compassionate leadership has been invaluable to our GLOBE community. Ms. Huitt came out of retirement in August of 2019 to guide Upper Campus through what became a challenging few years, and we are extraordinarily grateful for her service to our students, families, and staff. She’s looking forward to resuming her well-earned retirement at the end of this school year.
I'm sure you’ll share in my gratitude for Ms. Huitt’s service and in my excitement for Dr. Noble’s arrival. You’ll be hearing more from both of them in the weeks to come.
Sincerely,
Christi Elliott-Earby
Executive Director

COVID Corner
Updated mask policy
On March 7, 2022, The GLOBE Academy updated its mask policy for all students. The full policy can be reviewed here. Although masks are not required for entry into the school building, if your child is showing signs and symptoms of COVID-19, please seek a COVID-19 test and have them wear a mask at school until a negative test result is received and their symptoms improve.
Weekly COVID-19 testing
Viral Solutions will be back on campus again on Thursday, March 17, to provide all GLOBE students and staff with access to free rapid antigen testing. The positivity rates of each testing clinic can be found on tab 2 of the Data Dashboard. Results will be updated the day after each testing clinic occurs. If you would like to enroll your student in testing for the semester, you can fill out the consent form here. If you have questions about the testing process or how to receive your student's results, please read the FAQ flyer.
Vaccination survey
We would like to determine how many of our students are fully vaccinated. Understanding the vaccination coverage in our community will help us to make informed decisions about sporting events and meal time locations. To learn more and/or to notify us, click here.
