Giving Campaign
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO DONATED TO THE BAGBY GIVING CAMPAIGN. EVERY DONATION CONTINUES TO HELP.
As we begin the month of November, we have raised close to $43,900, which is approximately 79% of our goal.
Although we will no longer be requesting donations, you can still donate anytime to help us meet our goal. You can put your donation in an envelope marked “Giving Campaign" and drop it off in the office or go to the HSC page on the Bagby website.
If you need receipts for company matching, please let me know. Otherwise receipts for tax purposes will be sent out sometime in January.
Any questions, please contact Rachael Wegener at: rachaelwegener@yahoo.com

Parent Literacy Night
November 8th - 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Title: Growing Readers and Writers for the 21st Century: What Parents Need to Know
Description: Parents and teachers are important partners as children learn how to read, build good reading habits and acquire a lifelong love of reading and writing. Learn what parents can do to support their children using the same standards-driven, balanced comprehensive literacy approach that teachers use in the classroom. Walk away with fun, engaging and educational activities/resources you can use with your child at home. Let's grow a 21st century garden of children who are critical readers, writers and thinkers!
Enhanced Safety for Our Students
The Cambrian District office supports a safe and secure environment for staff, students and all visitors entering and exiting our school sites. The Governing Board voted to enhance security measures to protect Cambrian School District resources, with Board Policy 3515, for security camera use to enhance and maintain a safe environment. Each school site and the District Office will have one security camera installed in the main office. Adequate signage will be installed on each site to inform the public of the camera. Recordings may be used in disciplinary proceedings, and matters captured by the camera may be referred to local law enforcement, as appropriate. Also, the District shall notify staff and students through student/parent/guardian and staff handbooks that video monitoring may occur on District property, and in accordance with District regulations for video monitoring of public areas.

Reminders
Back Parking Lot:
The back parking lot on Curtner Avenue is for staff only. It is NOT to be used to drop off students in the morning. It is a small lot with very little room to turn around, making it very dangerous.
Early Release on Wednesdays:
PLEASE REMEMBER that Wednesdays are early release days. The release schedule is as follows:
TK/K - 1:00 pm
1st - 3rd grades - 1:25 pm
4th & 5th grades - 1:15 pm
Emergency Contacts:
Students can only be released from school to the parent/guardian or emergency contacts listed on the students Emergency Form on file at school. The person picking up the student must be an adult 18 years of age or older. We cannot release students early unless we have a note from you or you come to pick up your student in person. Please make sure your emergency contacts are up to date. If you have not identified any emergency contacts please do so.
School Absence Line:
Daily absences must be verified. If your child will be absent from school please call our absence line (408-377- 3882 & press OPTION #1). You must call in EACH DAY of your child’s absence. EMAILING YOUR TEACHER does not replace your phone call into the attendance line.
Late Arrivals or Early Departures:
If your son/daughter will be late because of a doctor’s appointment, call the Attendance Office and let us know the student’s arrival time and the reason for the tardiness.
If your child is leaving early, send a note with them in the morning for the attendance office indicating what time you will be picking them up. Please try to avoid picking them up during recess and/or lunch as it is very difficult to find children on the playground.
