Upcoming OCA Virtual Event!!

Presented by the Oakland Counseling Association: College Admissions Counseling for School Counselors: Tips to Make Your Time with Students more Efficient and Effective.


Join us for a FULL day virtual event! There will be one registration link but all sessions will have a separate Zoom link so attend what you can! Counselors can earn up to 6 College SCECHs if you attend the full day.

College Admissions Counseling for School Counselors: Tips to Make Your Time with Students more Efficient and Effective

Up to 6.0 College SCECHs available. Counselors will earn SCECHs for sessions attended.

COST:

$10 for Oakland Counseling Association Members

$20 for Non-Members


SCECHs are processed for free by OCA for all OCA members!


Additional event information including Zoom links for each individual session will be sent closer to the event, once payment is confirmed.

9:15 - 10:15am: College Essay Coaching for Busy Counselors by Susan Knoppow, CEO, Wow Writing Workshop


10:30 - 11:30am: Advising LGBTQ+ Youth: Finding LGBTQ-Friendly Colleges & Universities by Shane Windmeyer, M.S., Ed., Campus Pride


11:30 - 12:00pm: LUNCH


12:00 - 1:30pm: How to Help a Student Craft an Outstanding College Application: A Crash Course by Hanah Lim, College Essay Guy, Director of Workshops


1:45 - 3:30pm: Counselor Updates from College Admissions Advisors

(Kalamazoo College, Kettering University, Indiana University - Bloomington, Michigan State University, University of Michigan - Ann Arbor, and more!) This will be a breakout room style session where counselors can choose 3 sessions to attend.
