Mission Statement
Thoughts from the Principal
I've spent the summer learning, preparing, and praying for an amazing upcoming year. Personally, I recently prayed for some quiet time to get some work completed and the Lord answered those prayers...At this very moment, I am at a training and communicating from a dorm room at Neumann University in Philadelphia...not exactly what I was going for...but I'm pumping out this newsletter. So, prayers have been answered. Now on day four in the college dorm, the Lord has definitely helped me appreciate the very basics of living, working, and praying.
On another note...During sessions, I know its hard to believe, but I'm pretty vocal about practices and when asked to share I often pose questions during discussions and try to gain the most out of who God has placed around me. Well, another principal from up North approached me in between sessions and shared this Bible verse from Galatians 5:22-23, But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law, and said "You have so much passion and It sounds like your students in your school are truly sharing Christ with the fruit of the Spirit." The Holy Spirit works in wonderful ways. It was a great affirmation. However, to counter that, another principal and I had an organized lunch with a superintendent of Catholic schools from another state, an author, and a couple other presenters. I listened for a good bit and then fired off some questions and the superintendent stated, "Well, the first and most important thing is you have to win the hearts of your staff, parents, and students to infuse positive change. Have you done that, Mrs. Rios?" I smiled and said, "Well...they haven't gotten rid of me yet. Does that count?" He laughed and said that it was a start. On that note, thank you for allowing me to walk this faith journey with you and our amazing students!

School-Wide Orientation and Meet the Teacher Night for ALL Families
Each grade level will begin with a parent meeting in the Cafetorium to review changes to the handbook, curriculum updates, and exciting things to look forward to for the 2016-2017 school year.
PK-4th Grades will have three repeated sessions to choose from allowing multiple child families to visit all teachers. It is important that parents attend sessions for the allotted time as teachers have very important information regarding procedures and new programs being used in the classrooms.
5th-8th Grades will begin in the homeroom class and rotate through all classes in the schedule. The rotation schedules will be explained in detail the night of Orientation and will be posted around the school. Once homerooms and class lists are posted, students and parents will find the homeroom listed on the schedule included below and move through classes in the order listed. 4:30-6:30 is a lengthy schedule, but it is important that each family has the opportunity to meet assigned teachers for the 2016-2017 school year.
