***Please label all student water bottles, lunch boxes, sweatshirts, etc. We already have a few water bottles in the commons lost and found. We want to reduce the amount of things we have in lost and found this year. Thank you.

It was so wonderful seeing so many of our families in the building Tuesday afternoon during Supply Drop Off. We are looking forward to having everyone back inside the building for Curriculum Night coming up shortly. (see details below) It was fantastic Wednesday morning welcoming the students back to school. Your children are amazing, and the staff is excited about partnering with you this year. The Back to School Picnic was a huge success. I love seeing the Beye Community come together.

• Thank you to the PTO for providing coffee out back after students started school Wednesday.
• Thank you Alycia Rogers and Patrick Mason for providing staff and students with a Candycopia flyer good for a special treat. If your child didn't receive it Friday, they will Monday.
• Thank you to Molly Greenwood Whalen and the PTO for putting together our Back to School Picnic! It was a fantastic event. I loved seeing the students dancing with the Bobcat!

This mosaic was made possible by an initiative of OPEF and their summer Base Camp program. Students from all over the community had a hand in its creation. Under Ms. Sundquist's guidance, Beye students constructed the stones and leaves, OPRFHS students, under the instruction of Tracy Van Duinen form OPRF made the trees and D97 middle school students glazed and assembled the mosaics. It is a truly community-based project that ties the community together through art. Ms. Sundquist also helped with the final installation.

We chose the word "Wonder" as our theme. I love that it aligns with one of the district's priorities - Be Curious.

6:30 - Third grade presentation in auditorium, followed by visits to third grade classrooms; Kindergarten in classrooms

7:00 - Fourth and Fifth grades in classrooms

Food Allergies/Nut-Safe Schools
Nuts and nut products are not allowed in any District 97 schools during the 2022-23 school year. This includes products that are labeled “processed in a facility that shares equipment with nut products.”

District 97 schools have been nut-safe for the past two years—helping to create safer, more inclusive environments for all of our students.

The breakfast and lunch menus for our elementary and middle schools are available at http://www.op97.org/business-office/food-service. During the 2022-23 school year, students may:

• Bring a nut-free lunch from home.

• Order school lunch.

PLEASE NOTE: During the 2022-23 school year, all students will be required to pay for their breakfast and lunch meals unless they are directly approved by the State of Illinois or approved after completing the 2022-23 Free and Reduced Meal Application.

Process for Reporting Positive COVID-19 Cases to D97 Schools
If a student or staff member tests positive for COVID-19, they must complete the following steps:

1) In order to notify the school nurse and receive a return-to-school date, families/staff must complete the confidential COVID-19 Positive Case Notification Form as soon as possible following the positive test. Information provided will also be shared with the Oak Park Department of Public Health.

2) Families must continue to report student absences via the school attendance line, and staff must enter their absences in Frontline.
