Letter from your Principal
What a wonderful start to the school year. Students are happily adjusting to being back full-time and with new teachers. For some of our families, children have been virtual for a year and a half, so we understand it will take a bit of time to adjust. In addition, we have several new families to our school so they are learning the routines as well. Thank you for your patience as we all acclimate to the new school year.
I want to thank everyone who helped make these first two days wonderful. Thank you to our amazing PTA president Jon Bennett and Vice Presidents Amber MacDonald and Kelly Sanders who have all gone above and beyond to make our school so welcoming with balloons, signs, and the best attended Bobcat Community Coffee in years. Thank you to the amazing Santa Rita Staff for all of the hard work and extra hours in the classrooms, in the office and making our campus so welcoming. Finally I want to thank all the parents and students who came to school excited, ready to follow our Covid rules and more than anything ready for a great year!
I am also happy to be able to say that we will be live streaming our Friday assemblies since parents will not be able to attend. I f you would like to join us, please log onto
https://bit.ly/SR-Friday at 8:35.
I look forward to seeing everyone at the Bobcat Chase this Saturday morning! It is such a great tradition to start off the year. See the note from the PTA below for more details.
Here is a link to our weekly schedule, including early dismissal times on Thursdays and the Minimum Day Schedule. You may also also find this information on our website.

A note from Kim Gusman
Dear Santa Rita Families,
I am writing to share some important news about the library with you. This year, I am moving to the library at Loyola Elementary School and Mary Anne Williams, our LASD+ teacher extraordinaire, will be your new librarian. I am so happy to be able to pass the reigns to Mary Anne who has a passion for reading, writing, and Santa Rita!
I want to thank all of you for the warmth, memories, and learning we experienced together during my four years at Santa Rita. I so enjoyed your children and will always look back on my time at Santa Rita as one of my life’s sweetest blessings.
I wish you all the best for a happy and healthy school year!
Fondly,
Ms. Kim

LAEF
Welcome back to school! Let's get our students off to a fabulous start with strong support from our parent community. Your partnership with the Los Altos Educational Foundation (LAEF) can help the Los Altos School District (LASD) deliver a high-quality, well-rounded learning experience for all our TK-8th grade students.
What is LAEF?
LAEF is a non-profit organization that raises funds from parents and the community to sustain and enrich LASD's excellent educational program beyond what public funding provides. LAEF fills the gap in school funding from federal, state and local sources and is the only way for parents to fund LASD teaching staff in our district.
Here’s the Goal
LASD is counting on us to raise $2.8 million to fund teachers and staff for STEM, Wellness, Literacy, and Arts this school year. Donations to LAEF from parents like you will benefit your student and every student in our seven elementary schools and two junior high schools. Find out more about what LAEF funds.
Let’s Get Started
Your generosity is key! Donate or Pledge to LAEF today. Parents are encouraged to give $1,200 or $120/month per student this school year. Gifts of any amount are appreciated. If you are able to submit for a corporate match, we would be most grateful. Both parents can apply.
It’s for the Students
Let's come together and help our kids receive an excellent, well-rounded education. Your donation to LAEF will impact your child's education this school year.
