Apologies for some editing errors in the June edition of the Superintendent's Newsletter. The list of National Merit Scholars neglected to include Annemarie Foy and Henry Lai. Congratulations on their hard work and success to earn the National Merit Scholarship Award! Additionally, the below version of the newsletter includes the corrected spelling of Roberta Pyne's name. She received Oak School's Teacher of the Year Award.

Three Los Altos School District graduates earned the prestigious 2019 National Merit Scholarship Award. To earn the National Merit Scholarship, students must score in the top one percent of students on the PSAT and submit an extensive application, which includes a consistently outstanding academic record; recommendations from a school principal or faculty member; an essay; and SAT scores. Congratulations to Martin Cooper, Annemarie Foy, Karina Halevy, Henry Lai, and Tejas Sanjai Thvar who all worked so hard to achieve this honor!

The Los Altos History Museum is hosting an upcoming Apricot STEM Fair on Sunday, June 30 from 10am-3pm at 51 S. San Antonio Road in Los Altos. The Los Altos School District Living Classroom, the Art Docents and the LASD STEM program will host hands-on STEM activities for local children, parents and community members. You may also enjoy celebrating the heritage of our community with tasty apricot treats at the Silicon Valley Eats exhibit.
