Welcome to the BHS Express
A newsletter keeping you informed about Batavia High School
October 6, 2023
Andrea Conner, BHS Principal
Hello Bulldog Families.
This week has been filled with Homecoming fun as students participated in various spirit days throughout the week! I’m finding that we have some very creative young people in our building! If you have a moment, check out all of the photos in the newsletter that highlight some of the fun our students shared with one another!
Our BHS PTO will be holding their first meeting of the 2023-2024 school year on Wednesday, October 11th at 7:00 p.m. This meeting will be held in our Project Lab next to our new Media Center. This is the same night that we have parent/teacher conferences, so be sure to sign up to talk with your student’s teachers and make a night of it by attending and becoming involved in our high school PTO!
School pictures for students in grades 9-11 will be taken on Tuesday, October 10th. We will begin at 7:30 a.m. and should wrap up by 9:00 a.m. There are two ways you can order your student’s school pictures through Dingo Photography. You can order via the link that is provided in the “take note” section of this newsletter or your student can pick up a paper picture form from the office. Seniors will have their pictures taken with Dingo Photography on October 25th. More information will be communicated soon.
Be sure to swing by the high school on October 12th for the community-wide Open House and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. We think you will enjoy seeing all of the new features of the new building!
The weather is quickly changing and is reminding us that fall is definitely here. Enjoy this change of the seasons this weekend.
In service to our Bulldogs.

Hello Bulldog Families.
This is a quick reminder that ALL students who are driving must have a parking pass by Monday, October 9, 2023. We are asking our students to park in their assigned, numbered spots. When students park in others' spots, it causes a domino effect as everyone starts taking each other's assigned spots.
We've asked students who arrive with someone else in their assigned spot to park in an unnumbered spot and email our SRO, Officer Warner, with this information.
We believe this will assist us in making sure we address the student(s) who start the entire process.
Thank you for your assistance and understanding.

Homecoming Week Fun!
PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THE FOLLOWING
- We do not permit our students to DoorDash to our high school. If food is brought in from the outside during the school day, we ask that parents bring the food to the office, during their student’s assigned lunch period, and we will make sure they receive it. This is a safety precaution. Thank you for helping us work with your students concerning this issue.

Supply Chain OKI Career Information Event: October 19th at 5:00 @ BHS
Batavia High School will be hosting an information night with Supply Chain OKI for students and parents. Supply Chain OKI is intended to help students learn about the great careers in Supply Chain, Construction, Manufacturing and other careers. This is a very exciting opportunity for our students with this group partnering with companies such as TQL, Duke, Purina, Jergensen, and several more reputable companies. The goal of this pilot is to expose students to careers with major area employers, equip them with job skills and credentials, help them gain co-op experience and be considered for full time employment after high school. In addition, we hope to help students with transportation.
