Note from the Principal

Happy Thursday Slater Nation!


It looks like the messy weather is here! Below, I have posted FHUMHS's one-hour delay schedule for students. We are rescheduling our Veterans' Day assembly for Monday, November 13th. We are excited to have members of the American Legion Post 49 join us, as well as a guest speaker.


We are also planning on rescheduling the 1/2 day of Parent-Teacher Conferences that were canceled today due to weather. We will keep families informed as we determine a new date.


Our school website is continually being updated and improved for the best possible user experience and to assure families have access to important school information. I have included a brief video below showing how to access a new college and career guide recently added. This guide is a resource for all students in grades 9-12. It provides information on:


  • Career Exploration Resources
  • College Planning Resources
  • Upcoming Events
  • College Entrance Exam Information
  • Playing Sports in College
  • Paying for College Resources
  • Apprenticeship/Employment Resources



Below you will find information for a Project Graduation fundraiser, information on an upcoming family event showing a documentary discussing cyber-bullying (November 16th) called The Upstander, and information on our November 15th community Belonging Potluck Feast.


Our prospective future Stafford students are getting excited about this year's STC visits. On November 28th, our Sophomores will be going to STC to explore their programming in person. If you have questions about Stafford, please contact your child(ren)'s counselor.

The Law Enforcement class practiced some basic obedience with Bear, Ed's Black Russian Terrier.

Over the past week, students have been learning about the care and training of police dogs from Ed (VT Hall of Fame K-9 Handler).

The previous day students practiced dog training with chairs before moving to the real thing. Bear was a great sport.
