Congratulations on your Retirement!
After many years of serving our Larsen Community, Ms. Dorsey SDC Teacher and Ms. Whitmer Kinder Teacher will retire to start a new adventure. We thank them both for the dedication to our Larsen Community. Both have left their legacy at Larsen. They will be incredibly missed.

5th Grade Parents
Parents and guardians of 5th grade students,
Your student does not have to register for 6th grade. If your child is in 5th grade their registration information will automatically be transferred to Blackstock Jr. High School.
You will receive a packet in the mail in August containing important information about orientation, daily schedules and other events.
If you do not plan on having your student attend Blackstock Jr. High School please let us know.

Dual Language Immersion
We are proud to announce that Larsen will start a 90:10 Dual Language Model Program This Fall of 2023, for incoming Kindergarten age students and 1st grade students.
The program goals are :
prepare students to perform at or above grade level in both languages (English and Spanish).
to develop high level of proficiency in listening , speaking, reading, writing in both academic English and academic Spanish
To develop positive attitudes towards those who speak a second language and originate from various cultures.
To promote self esteem and lifelong leadership skills
Dual language immersion is a research-proven instructional approach that prepares students to think, read and write in two languages, resulting in students becoming bilingual, biliterate, and bicultural.
Dual Language Immersion programs are additive - meaning that a child does not lose their native language, but instead strengthens their native language plus adds a second language.
Bilingualism and biliteracy prepares students to think more broadly and critically, results in higher language arts and math achievement and increases career pathways opportunities in their adulthood.

Last Day of School
Friday, June 16, is the last day of school. It is a minimum day all students will be dismissed at 11:37 AM. Please make sure to inform your babysitters.

Our Larsen Staff wish you all a great summer. Students will keep their devices to read and access their learning platforms during the summer. Encourage your kiddoes to read everyday. Our school will be closed during the summer. We will have a schedule posted for days of operation.
The first day of school will be August 22, 2023.
