Our Year 2 and 3 students have been enjoying their Swimming Scheme lessons each morning. The teachers have reported some fantastic improvements made by the students in each group. Well done to all students who are participating. It is great to see some of these students practising this fortnight's expected behaviour of "trying something new."
Thank you to all families who collected money for the SPARTAN fundraiser held in Week 1. We are very grateful for the efforts of all families and students. Please see the P&C News below for a breakdown of money raised. Congratulations to Aaliyah Dennis-Smith, who raised an amazing $301, the highest amount for the girls. There was a tie for the most amount raised by a boy, with Mason Rakow and Charlie Grant each raising $245. Our class party winners, based on the average amount raised per class, was 1W. Congratulations!! Money raised will be put towards improving technology throughout the school.
We will be holding an ICEBLOCK DAY this Thursday. Iceblocks will be $1 and will be for sale at lunchtime. The weather forecast says 26 - perfect weather for an iceblock!
Ms Hoskins
Acting Principal

PBL Expected Behaviours
This fortnight's focus behaviours are:
- Wear a school hat outside
- Try new things
Diversity Is Sweet!
1W students have been working collaboratively with students from K6W to produce a colourful art work, celebrating the importance of diversity. Students chose to recreate Aboriginal dot painting techniques through the use of colourful Skittles! They chose these lollies as the colours reflect the Aboriginal and Torres Straight Island flag colours. The taste of the lollies and the bright colours reflect our thoughts that cultural diversity and inclusivity make life sweet and interesting!
The excellent art work will be submitted to the Koori Art exhibition. Fingers crossed it gets selected! Well done 1W, K6W and Miss Maree for all your hard work!
Cards & Calendars
The annual 'Cards & Calendars' fundraiser is being held again this year. Each child in the school has created an artwork that can be turned into calendars, cards, diaries, mouse pads or sketch pads - $15 each. These make the perfect Christmas present for friends and family. Please return your order form and money to the school office by 18th November. If paying by cheque, please make cheques payable to Banksmeadow PS P&C. Spare order forms can be collected from the office.
2017 Enrolments
We are beginning to plan for 2017 classes. If your child will not be returning to Banksmeadow next year, or if you are aware of any families who will be moving into the area and hoping to enrol, could you please let Ms Hoskins know as soon as possible so as to assist with planning.

Participation on the panel includes the reading of applications, a designated day for the shortlisting process and another day for the interview process. You do not need to be trained in this process to volunteer, as training can be given before the process begins. Nominations will be accepted at the next P&C meeting, where a vote may be held to determine the successful representative. If you are interested in nominating yourself to be the parent representative on this panel but are unable to attend the meeting, please email the P&C at bpspandc@hotmail.com
